I have one on both the up and downstairs and it works fits and works wonders. It stays open when fully out but smaller angles make it close.

Every bad review given on this item is accurate and true. I thought the bad reviews might be from folks that don’t normally deal with things like this. I thought perhaps the reviews were bad because they were installed on drywall. (There is no way this gate would hold up in drywall. It would yank right out of the wall. ) my husband is a licensed contractor. We installed the gate in the wood frame of the man door leading into our garage to let air in and keep the dogs out. After installation the gate was plum and level from all angles. No matter what adjustments we made, this piece of junk would not latch properly. It is a great concept (no threshold to trip over and a wide opening) but the design is beyond flawed. Trying to open it with one hand is very difficult if you are short because you can’t get a lot of leverage over the top of the gate handle. The latches will not catch unless you manually move the gate into place, especially the one on the bottom. Even when it did latch, all it took was a slight push on the bottom latch from the nose of my senior dog to open the gate. Bottom line, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GATE.

I can highly recommend this baby gate. + Very secure. When installed CORRECTLY I am not able to yank out the gate. + Opening is convenient. Press a large button and pull up with some force. Yes, it does require a bit of a pull to get it to open. I rather have this then something complicated to circumvent a child opening it. + Auto close is amazing and works very well. Also, much safer than having my sleep addled brain remember to close it. It will stay open once past a certain angle, but it's hard to do that by accident. +++ Opens the entire span of the gate. Most gates have this tiny sliver I somehow gotta squeeze through. This thing opens almost its entire width. - It's NOT pressure mounted but I recommend to avoid those. Get a nice handy friend, family, or paid help to put some 2x4's attached to the wall via zip tie, strong double sided tape, what have you and mount this to the 2x4. Pressure mounted gates are simply terrible for both safety and usability.

Very easy to install and it’s very good quality I needed a bottomless door so my dog wouldn’t be able to go throw but my cat goes under so it does my robot vacuum

TLDR: Use different drywall anchors! The ones it comes with are trash and one anchor screw was not formed correctly. It didn’t have any of the threads formed. I didn’t realize how bad the anchors were until I put them in the wall and tried tightening the bracket down. They immediately stripped out without even tightening down. Had to pull the anchors back out of the wall and find better anchors. Gate itself is fine. Works as intended but the hardware it comes with needs to be improved. Especially since this will be keeping a baby from falling down stairs.
