Old case had hard to push power buttons. Is this improved?

I have never had a problem with the push buttons. The simulated metal buttons seem to work easily, yet firm enough to prevent accidental activation.

Only had on phone for a day and the 2 layers won't stay together at the corner, the same corner where many reviews have reported breakage. Case is too tight on the phone. If I hadn't thrown the packaging away I would be returning it
