Wow! Amazingly versatile interface, works great, beautiful design.
I just discovered Shelly products and I'm impressed. It's a beautiful small, compact, durable, and clean design. The network interface is extremely versatile, supporting many protocols. My favorite is a straight html web interface with API, which can be monitored and controlled from any computer with any software. Shelly also supports practically all the home automation stuff out there, as far as I can see. I use mine to monitor and control the AC portion of a small scale solar setup I put together myself, using my own home brew software. I have a non-Shelly product that came with a phone app for control and monitoring. There is no data logging. There is no way to use anything except their proprietary app. When I asked their customer service, they assured me that their app was unbelievably awesome and I had no need for anything else. Well. They're wrong. Shelly is right. Shelly products have the opposite attitude. They are flexible and accommodating. Their web site has oodles of information, schematics, data sheets, and use case examples. As an engineer, I now have a crush on this company. The contacts can accommodate up to a single #12AWG wire, solid or stranded. It's snug fit. Gently and slowly pushing in stranded wire instead of turning it works best. There are redundant contacts, so wire nuts and trying to put two wires into a contact are not necessary. DON'T try to put two wires into a contact, even if they're small gauge. That's what wire nuts or compression connectors are for. Don't know what I'm talking about? Google it. Personally, I LIKE the fact that it has no mounting features, and simply hangs on the wires. AC wiring can be very tight inside a box, and if a device is bolted to the wall of the box, extra wire length has to be used, crowding the box even more, and forces are put on parts when all that wire is crammed into the box. I think most professionals would agree. The Shelly philosophy is to let the device hang where it will, like a wire nut, which is a good thing. DIYers should always read up on electrical or consult a professional before doing their own work. There are a lot of codes that seem pointless to novices but are written for good reasons. If you're installing this device in a small box with solid wires, only strip the wires about 1/4", so the insulation goes right up to the body with little or no bare wire showing. Bend and "dress" the wires FIRST, before attaching the device to them, and check to see that everything fits in the box with no interference. Take your time. You'll be proud of the result, instead of a little nervous about it.

Good once you get it to work
As with my Shelly temperature monitors, this power monitor was annoyingly difficult to get online, requiring too many tries, but once connected it has looked reliable and consistent. Also keep in mind that installing any wifi device inside a grounded steel box is not going to work well for wifi. I installed mine in a "non-metallic" electrical box and still had a PITA getting it to connect the first time. But again, once connected, works reasonably well. Load measurement agrees with my Amprobe meter. Interesting issue-- i tried it on my hard-wired water pump, which is outdoors and therefore on a GFCI circuit breaker. I had it on the load side of the breaker, and it kept tripping the GFCI. In theory this should have worked, because the Shelly device should simply appear as a tiny additional load. When i moved the Shelly to the source side of the breaker, no problems. Odd.

Make smart plugs
They are great devices. Turns and any light switch or plug into a smart device and show how much power it pulls on top of being able to make anything smart.

Köpt en hel del produkter med märket Shelly och jag gillar deras setup samt hur bra dom fungerar med Home Assistant och denna var inget undantag, lite långsammare i web interfacet än dimmer 2 och plug men i övrigt bra funktion.
