Marginal notes, maps and illustrations missing!
I was very excited to discover this 1560 edition of the Geneva Bible. When I read that it contained the โoriginal Apocryphal booksโ and that it โmaintains the original translation and textual integrity of the Geneva Bibleโ, I looked forward to reading the Bible of the Protestant Reformers. Unfortunately, the all-important marginal notes/comments, maps, and illustrations featured in the original 1560 Geneva Bible were NOT included in this particular edition!!!

This is a very nice Bible and fun to read, seeing how our written English has greatly progressed since then. When in doubt of other bibles, I use this as a reference point, as it's hundreds of years older than the modern messes / per-versions called "bibles" today! Being older, it is closer to the copies of the original manuscripts. Therefore, It exposes the bastardization of today's "bibles". It shows their errors, contradictions of each other, omissions of important verses, and subtle changes of doctrine by changing out words for words that do not mean the same. The only other Bible that matches it 100% is the 1611 King James Holy Bible. I highly recommend both of these Bibles. BTW, it's softcover.

I want to share my appreciation for the Geneva Bible. It's a valuable addition to my collection as an avid reader of biblical literature. The large font and spacious page layout make reading comfortable for long periods, which I greatly appreciate. The inclusion of the Apocryphal books offers a richer understanding of the biblical canon from the 16th century. The unique orthography adds an authentic historical touch that I find fascinating. This edition has genuinely deepened my study and reflection, making every reading session enjoyable and enlightening.

This is an really big book. It does have words u might need to look up the definitions. The written language is a bit different... the "v" is actually "u's" for example they write "vnto" instead of unto.

I will be real. I did not know what King james version meant until last week. Just never thought about it. I am not seeking his approval or his words so I searched for the closet thing to the word of God by him. After doing research I went looking and found this one. It's large and the first chapter was pretty easy to read. A few small language difference in spelling but nothing I can't tell what it is in current language. I'm glad I bought it and would buy it as a gift for someone.
