RiaTech Black - Audio Jack Headphones with mic, 3.5 mm Jack Splitter 2 Female 1 Male Black (U-Shape)

I bought this adaptor to connect external mic along with speaker/headphones to my laptop, so that I can attend business meetings on zoom/teams. Many reviews and even product description mentions that this adaptor doesn’t support external mic and probably users who have headphones with two separate jacks should only use this. I already had bought an external collar mic, so I simply wanted to give this item a try. Initially when I received the product and when I tried to plug external mic and headphones to my laptop, this product didn’t work, and I felt like a fool to have ordered this item. HOWEVER, luckily the collar mic I had with me also packaged a TRRS to TRS adaptor. I gave it another try to use this TRRS to TRS adaptor on the mic port. Surprisingly this setup worked for me, as I can use both external mic and headphones/speaker on laptop. I even tried the same setup with my iPhone, and it worked as well (had to use one more adaptor). So, this product works provided you have a proper setup (additional TRRS to TRS adaptor). Check the photos and video for the setup I have used. Overall, I am satisfied with this product!

This has been a totally wasteful expenditure for me. There are several issues as under: i) The picture shows HEADPHONE and MIC icons to let the user know where to insert microphone plug and where the speaker/headphone plug. However, there are no such icons on the product supplied to me. So, I cannot decide which jack is to be used for recording and which one to use for headphone / speakers. ii) I tried Panasonic stereo microphone plug in one jack and some awful recording was audible. Then, I tried another jack and here also awful recording was done ! So, both the input jacks are equally bad for audio recordings. Same happened with headphone also. Horrible sound was available from both the jacks. Realizing that I have wasted my money on a defective product, I have dumped it as a useless item. I don't even have the heart to send it back to claim refund. Amazon should stop selling this product to save itself from disgrace.

Initially when I bought this product, it was not working on my boya Mic. Hence I placed replacement order and I got another product, but then also this was still not supported with boya mic. Then I have done RnD and done some adjustment, after that it is working owesome. I have done below thing. 1. Bought the TRSS to RSS converter and fix that between boya mic and this converter. 2. I have bought this converter from Amazon it's self. The only drawback I saw is, its not fitting to your smartphone if your using back cover. You have to remove the cover use.

I ordered this adapter to connect an external mic to my laptop, since my laptop has the new standard "combo jack" that does not recognise my mic, which has the old standard 3.5 mm stereo pin designed for dedicated mic jacks. The adapter has good solid build quality - from the weight, it feels like it's made of brass, covered with high-quality black moulded plastic. The pin of the adapter fits in my laptop combo jack with a very satisfying click and the connection is firm and tight. The pin of the external mic and my headphones fit into the respective jacks of this adapter with a satisfying click and the connections are firm and tight. I get full stereo sound from the headphones. I don't have a stereo mic so I couldn't determine if the mic jack was stereo, but I would guess it is. So this adapter solves the problem which I bought it for. Note: I don't know if it will work for smartphones, because some smartphones have recessed 3.5 mm jacks that are set slightly below the surface. But for my usage, this is exactly what I wanted. Last but not least, the pin of this adapter comes with a thick plastic protector cap. That's a nice touch and helps to prevent damage to the pin.

Very cheap quality product as expected. Firstly the trrs jack loosely fits into the laptop audio port. There is no satisfying "click" while plugging in the splitter into the port and a simple light tug will detach it from the port. Secondly there is a wired interfarence when both headphone and external mic is plugged in. The sound from mic keeps comming from headphone to be percise. And yes the "Listen to this device" option from the "sound" settings was OFF but still. But overall the thing works. Just to be clear this is a Y splitter which splits a laptop/phone combined single audio TRRS port into 2 TRS ports, one for input (mic) and one for output (headphone). If your mic/headphone has a TRRS jack then you would require a TRRS to TRS converter as well. Another thing - Amazon sent me a used product I think! The internal packet was allready opend. May be previous owner slightly damaged it while pugging. May be thats why it does'nt fit properly. I don't know and I don't care as long as this thing works as expected. Hope this helps.

Don't buy. It won't work at all. I have just wasted my money on this useless product. I hope Amazon could check this kind of seller and banned it. Cause selling the product like this, in your platform will not only damage ur ratings but also affect the customer , so I request Amazon to fix this as soon as possible
