I let the kids experiment with it, they put it in the freezer to see if they could make snowballs and snowmen.

I want to use this outside for my wedding send-off in December. Will it just disappear on its own or will it have to be cleaned up afterwards?

it needs to cleaned up, because this snow will takes long time (about 2 weeks) to dry out, and it is slippery like really snow.
