Very fun
This helps a lot if you can't hold your yarn very well for whatever reason. Also helps a lot for making magic circles. Makes it much easier. The kit is great too. Comes with all you need and great step by step videos to show you how to use the tool and make the dino. Give it a go.

Helpful
This is a helpful crochet tool. It can help people with arthritis issues. The handle on makes it easy to hold but might not be comfortable for larger hands. It helped me get a feel for proper tension. It does have a learning curve so it takes a few tries to use it properly.

Not easy to use
I have been crocheting since I was 15 (60 yrs). The product is hard to use. It does not feed the yarn without snagging and tension does not stay as set. It does keep my hand from cramping. Update: when combined with the spindle yarn holder, the crochet holder works better; however, it still loosens tension while using. As far as helping arthritic hands, combining the needle, crochet holder, and spindle allows me to crochet longer without hands going to sleep. Update: I love the hook It is Everything Crochet set. The spindle is wonderful. The only drawback is that you must turn skiens into balls and work outside-in. The orange tool is a tension tool. It is a learning process to use it, but it does keep my hand from cramping. I am working on a C2C baby blanket. I had to stop every 15 minutes before I bought the tools. Now, I can work more than an hour before resting my hands. If your hands are arthritic like my hands, I suggest you try these tools. (Yes, I can smile. I have a migraine and am trying to concentrate.)

Finger Amputee Gives A Grade - Give it a Chance
Update 20250501: I now have a lapdesk that has a clip on it (like a clipboard) and the handle of this fits under that clip just right. Now I can use this hands-free! That was my ultimate goal - to somehow mount this to something else so I can take all the strain off my left hand altogether (my tendons are often inflammed due to amputations). I can crochet for far longer now as even holding the tool would cause tendon pain after a bit. I can't recommend this enough! Update 20250204: it took me about 3 months to get used to using this tool, but now that I am good with it I don't get any more palm pain and it alleviates the burden on my pinky finger, too. I'm missing two fingers above the middle joint and without this tool I would be so slow at crocheting! Properly threading the yarn is the biggest hurdle and I had to refer to the instruction manual several times to get it right. I'm now 6.5 months post amputation and can crochet Confidently again. 4 months ago I lopped off my ring and middle fingers between the first and second knuckle on my yarn holding hand. I can still hold the yarn Mostly, but there are some difficulties. In anticipation of this hiccup I ordered this tool as soon as I got home from surgery, and I'm glad I did! It took some getting used to, and I'm still adjusting. I am tossing in 4 stars because there is room for improvement, but I've been able to crochet several items, including a 0.75 mm Golden Snitch bookmark for my grandson by using this tool. Pros: - The tension dial allows for persnickety adjustments - Any yarn up to bulky can be easily used - not sure about chunky chenille type or dense yarns, though I think they'll work due to my perceived design flaw (in the cons) - Several options for holding it - It's like gaining replacement fingers - The curves prevent the plastic from digging into hands and fingers Cons: - The slot at the top of the yarn loop on the handle allows the yarn to slip out; however, it's still possible to crochet with that strand free. This is why I believe thicker yarns might work. It needs a way to secure the yarn in there, though, because it does change the angle and therefore how I have to grab the yarn with my hook. I'm trying to think of a way to close that gap when I'm actively crocheting - It could be a bit more ergonomic for larger hands (amputated limbs have swelling for the first year or so) - The exterior part of the handle (the vertical bar that sticks out and is next to the project) could be thinner to leave more space for the fingers - I find I need a little more distance between my project and the yarn loop on the handle - being able to adjust or just having more space between the yarn loop and the finger grip could help - like a telescoping section that could be dialed up and down The problem is, once you start adding those features it requires moving parts that can fail over time. As it is currently the only thing I could see breaking or wearing out is the yarn loop on the handle, and that's going to take a good long while. Overall I'm finding this to be highly helpful in getting back to crocheting after a traumatic accident. I only wish the kits and the tool were listed separately as they seem to have completely different reviews, with the tool gaining a good number of positives.

It is very hard and awkward to use.
It was awkward to use. It did not fit my needs as someone that experience, his left hand, weakness, and mobility. It was still hard to keep tension, trying to hold the bar if anyone has had a stroke and is trying to use this with left hand issues. It is gonna feel very awkward and will hurt their hand. Maybe if there was a padding or something put on the handle maybe it will feel better. I will be sending it back.

Amazing!
I think every new crochet beginner should have this tool! It was a game changer for me and my 9yr old. The best part of this is the video tutorials it comes with and it shows you how to do a magic circle using the tool! Itโs incredibly easy to hold and comfortable. Itโs made of quality material and feels durable. The price is awesome for how much you get out of it. It gives you perfect stitches because the tool controls the tension. It gave my daughter the confidence to crochet. I wish I bought it sooner. I will say that the tool is on the smaller size so itโs perfect for children but I have small hands and could comfortably use it.

Easy and Convenient
As an advanced crocheter, it works great and was easy to get used to. I think it would be great for beginners as well because it is easy to use and convenient. It really does help with hand strain/pain and made my stitches effortlessly tighter when I wanted them to be. Works with almost any size of yarn, the exception being that I haven't tried cobweb weight with it. Unfortunately I had broken knuckles and they've been sore ever since so I cannot use this for more than 10-20 minutes at a time. It is light, cute and came in a nice little canvas bag which I appreciate because I like to keep it in my bag, keeps it safe from tangling with yarn. Even though this is so helpful, please still remember to take regular breaks- I have a bad habit of forgetting to ๐ . Stretching also really helps improve hand pain; try youtube for proper hand stretch routines done by professionals.
