I was surprised these guns weren’t dearer because some guns that only read temp are more expensive. It seems well made too I’d definitely say they’re worth the money!! If you grow using vpd as a guide one of these guns is a must it takes all the guesswork out and the plants love the temp and humidity I’ve set it at

I’ve been using the AC Infinity VPD Thermometer for my plant setups, and overall, it’s a solid and well-designed tool. It fits comfortably in the hand, feels sturdy, and comes from a brand I already trust for environmental control equipment. The display is clear, and the layout of the buttons makes it easy to switch between modes without any confusion. What impressed me most is how helpful it was for calibrating temperature offsets between my plants and their environment. I used it to measure leaf temperatures inside my IKEA greenhouse cabinets, and it made tracking per-plant VPD much more precise. The instruction manual even includes a detailed table listing reflection settings for different materials, which means you can use it beyond plant applications. It’s surprisingly versatile for such a compact device. On the downside, I noticed that the ambient temperature and humidity readings take a little while to settle. They tend to be slightly off at first, especially in smaller enclosed spaces, but you can manually set offsets for both temperature and humidity to correct that. Once adjusted, the readings are reliable. If I could change one thing, it would be the lack of Bluetooth or data logging features (Yes, you get a history of 5 readings on the device, but if you have multiple leaves and want accurate offset, 5 readings is not enough) . Being able to record multiple readings and sync them with environmental sensor data would make the process of calculating leaf and plant offsets much faster and more accurate. Hopefully Ac Infinity will make a Gen 2 / Pro model with connectivity features included one day. I already know if they will add connectivity to this meter I will be upgrading without hesitation! I also wish the device would come with a case or have a case for sale as an accessory. You can store it in a box it arrived in, but given the amount of water and humidity in many grow areas, a plastic case (like the one You get with their PH meters) would be a perfect addition helping with reliabile long term storage. Even with that limitation, this is still an excellent thermometer for anyone serious about dialing in their growing conditions. It’s practical, accurate after calibration, and feels built to last. Oh and it came with Duracell batteries, so you can unbox it and use it right away without having to worry about power for quite some time!

Okay, AC Infinity… you nailed this one. 👏 At first glance, this might look like a fancy temperature gun. But for someone who grows the way I do, it's SO much more valuable than that. I grow in an inert medium, which means I'm very intentional about what goes into my plants and how much. I'm measuring EC. I'm checking pH. I'm monitoring runoff. I'm tracking growth. I'm keeping a grow journal. I have enough nutrients and supplements in my grow room to make my kids call the whole thing my “mad scientist laboratory.” 😂 And honestly? They're not wrong. I've got measuring equipment, beakers, graduated cylinders, multiple nutrients and supplements, and I'm measuring things with the kind of precision you'd expect from someone working in a laboratory. Because here's the thing about growing: Consistency matters. If you want to understand your plants and figure out what works, you have to be able to consistently measure what you're doing and what's happening around your plants. That's why I love tools like this. This isn't just telling me the temperature of my room. I can measure the leaf temperature and the ambient air temperature, check humidity, and get my VPD information — all from one handheld tool. That's a LOT of useful information in one little laser gun. And being able to compare what's happening at the leaf level to what's happening in the surrounding environment gives me another piece of the puzzle when I'm evaluating how my plants are responding. For a casual grower, maybe that's overkill. For me? It's exactly what I want. 😂 I'm not a commercial grower. I'm an indoor home grower. This is my hobby, my science experiment, and honestly, my little slice of happiness in the middle of crazy adult life. Some people drink. Some people bowl. Some people play cornhole. I grow plants. 🌱 And I love that AC Infinity makes equipment that lets me approach that hobby with actual data instead of guesswork. Because when you're trying to be consistent, the more accurately you can measure, the more consistently you can grow.
