They stay polished looking like the picture. Perfect size 7.9 inch, can scoop ice cream from a quart (this may depend on how cold your freezer is) Our freezer is just cold enough to be freezing for ice cubes, spoons keep shape and do not bend. I use them for cooking for two, in steel sauce pans 2qt, 4qt, 6 qt. I have a habit like my mom of clanking the spoon on the side of the steel or iron pan, but I try not to bash it too hard. There are a couple small dents on the edge of one or two of the spoons from my bad habits they keep their shape. The thickness is perfect for me about 2.5mm to 3mm nice 90° edge to flat sides. The shape of the spoon depth to length is just as it should be for soup, chilli, etc. Great sized bites for hungry mouths. We do have a dishwasher and notice no discoloration or blemishes. These look nice on the table giving a sharp contrast to the plate ware. They just feel great in the hands and fit a the hand nicely
