Dorman 99156 Keyless Entry Remote 6 Button Compatible with Select Chevrolet / GMC Models (OE FIX)

Both of the Keyless entry remotes to my 2012 Tahoe stopped working. I checked out ordering replacements from the Chevrolet dealership, a local locksmith, and ACE Hardware but the prices they quoted for programming new remotes were really high compare to the cost of the Dorman 99156. It took two tries (probably my fault for not following directions exactly) but worked great. The OBD adapter fits as it should and the remote include works great. I also bought two extra remotes and programmed them at the same time. All of the buttons work on those as well. Read the instructions and follow them step by step for a pretty easy setup.

Followed the instructions and it worked great! Programmed 3 fobs for my 2012 Tahoe and had plenty of time to do more if I needed. All functions work great including remote start all for a fraction of the cost of a dealership or locksmith!!

Got this for my 2011 denial, I did not think it was going to work. After my husband set everything up (which was a easy for him). I have not had any issues with it. It even allows me to remote start the denial from the house which is a plus during winter. Easy to use buttons and works perfect, so far from what I can tell has a good battery life. This is bad looking for the price either.

I dropped my OEM remote for my 2013 Tahoe and it stopped working. I did a lot of research and found this Dorman programming option and thought I would give it a try. Bad mistake. Dorman does not disclose anywhere in their advertisements on Amazon that the unit has a "Kill Switch" and it will cease to work after using it 3 times. Please see picture I uploaded. It is plainly in their instruction manual, but they never disclose this information in the description. This is plainly false advertising. You're purchasing a device to program remotes for your personal vehicle and it is never disclosed up front that the unit will die after 3 sessions and each session times out after 2 minutes...so no pressure trying to get them programmed. This is the company is simply killing the device after 3 uses. Electronics don't just randomly stop working after 3 uses. I had planned on programming the remote that came with the Dorman kit and then "if" it actually worked, order another remote or two to have spares. But if for some reason something doesn't go correctly you waste a session (again, a session is only 2 minutes) and you're screwed. I would not recommend this product, as they are not honest about their product. I called their tech support and inquired about this feature and they couldn't give me an answer. The lady tried to say, "oh, after the unit connects to the BCM 3 times, it dies. You know, like a battery running down). That is the dumbest answer. They simply can't say, WE KILL THE DEVICE AFTER 3 USES, so you have to purchase it again. They did put me on hold and try to transfer me to some guys extension that never answered and then said this extension could not take messages, I wonder why? There is no reason to have a kill switch to kill the device I paid for after 3 sessions. EITHER DISCLOSE THIS UP FRONT OR STOP SELLING A PRODUCT YOU ARE DISHONEST ABOUT! Stir clear of this company...NOT HONEST!

This item comes with clear instructions to get my old and new remote programmed into my 2012 suburban. The starting rage is the same as my factory remote.

We lost our keyless remote for a 2013 Tahoe, but did still have a working key to the car which I believe is necessary in order to use this product. Took us maybe all of 20 seconds to follow the easy step process to program this new remote. It worked seamlessly. The remote start option also worked without any additional steps needed for that feature. The cost of this product was a fraction of the cost that the dealer would have charged for what was zero labor effort! One very happy customer here!
