I bought six aprons! In my search for the perfect workshop apron, I came across six that were all well-reviewed and prime-ready, so I decided to do a shoot-out. Bottom line: The best shop apron is the Hudson Woodworking Edition. The best leather apron is the QeeLink. I would be happy with any of them - except the Angry Beaver. Full breakdown: Flipzon Work Apron https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Q19DT8R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Pros: Most Affordable, light and comfortable, quality leather accents Cons: Cheap straps, odd pockets, color (subjective) Summary: The Flipzon Work Apron is an attractive, light, and comfortable piece that I could see used in a variety of working environments. For the price, it is very impressive. I would say that the main shortfall is the pocket situation: the leather chest straps, while nice in appearance, are only good if your utensils have clips. None of my construction pencils do, so I wouldn’t trust them to stay. Further, while the main pocket is quite accommodating, the side pockets are too narrow for almost any of my hand-tools. I can’t think of good use for them other than straw storage. Finally, the straps are nylon, lack shoulder pads, buckles, or a connecting piece for the cross-back straps. Overall: If you’re on a budget, don’t need too many pockets, and don’t mind an apron that isn’t classic brown, this one is a great choice. ★★★★☆ LEASEEK Leather Welding Work Apron https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DNS5SSH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#customerReviews Pros: Price, quality leather, Cons: Cheap straps, heavy, color (subjective) Summary: The LEASEEK Leather Welding Work Apron is a few improvements away from being a quality apron. It was middle-of-the-road on comfort, had cheap nylon straps and a plastic cross back strap, and the color was pretty orange and splotchy. That being said, the leather did seem of good quality and the smell wasn’t as noticeable as some reviewers suggested. I’ve got a good sense of smell and this apron didn’t bother me. Overall: For an inexpensive leather apron, I think you’re getting a good deal, here. However, for a bit more, you could do a lot better. Also, the wife thought this was the ugliest one, so there’s that. Though it was perhaps the best-looking apron color-wise, the fit was relatively poor and it just seemed to want to bunch in the middle and get shorter - and it’s already a bit too short. All of the pockets are the same and they’re too shallow unless you’re only holding screws. The missing cross back strap was noticeable by comparison. Worst of all, the shoulder straps didn’t adjust well and just kept falling sideways down my arms. Overall: Nice canvas and appealing color, but otherwise, it’s a bit of a mess. It feels light, but protective, has a pleasant leather smell despite what some reviewers mentioned, and has an excellent pocket layout. The orange may be a bit much for some, and it is probably a touch too long for my 5’7” frame, but I like this one a lot. If it had better quality straps with shoulder pads or a hammer loop, this one would be the best. Overall: If you want leather over canvas, this here is the one for you. If comfort is most important, it still is. But if you want a bit more quality in the straps, keep reading. ★★★★☆ Texas Canvas Waxed Canvas Heavy Duty Shop Apron https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071P9LM7P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 Pros: extremely comfortable, quality straps, metal grommets Cons: limited pockets, color different than pictured Summary: I’ll keep this one short - this one is highly comfortable, has great straps with shoulder pads and a leather cross strap, and all-around just seems really well-made. The color is much lighter than pictured - more like the deluxe version. The packaging was also impressive. The only downside is the pockets just aren’t as nice as the Hudson. Overall: If you don’t wanna spend the extra $5 for the Hudson, then this is more than a serviceable shop apron - plus it is more comfortable. If you don't need as much for pockets, I'd go with this one. ★★★★★ Hudson Durable Goods - Woodworking Edition Apron https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0798WWM89/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 Pros: all the bells and whistles Cons: price, stiff Summary: Look, this one is just the best. It has a great color, excellent quality canvas and straps, a terrific assortment of deep and covered pockets, hammer loops, metal grommets, etc. The only complaint I have is that among such stiff competition, this is the stiffest. It really isn’t all that comfortable at first, but after I put a few miles on it, it started to ease-up. I was most torn between this one and the QeeLink, just because I love the feel of nice leather, especially on that particular apron. But at the end of the day, the Hudson is just pure quality and I know it will last me a long time. So for me, this one’s the keeper. Overall: If you can afford it, this one is the best. ★★★★★

I do a bunch of cooking and pretty intensive kitchen projects. 12 hour cooks, multi-stage BBQs, curing meats, making lox, and breaking down large quantities of meat. This apron is great for a few reasons: -I use the pockets MUCH more than I thought I would. -It's mostly waterproof/meat juice proof (This is big) -Its neck straps are really excellent. They don't get uncomfortable at all and distribute the weight of the apron across the entire back. -it has significant coverage. I can wear this with lots of clothes and really not have to worry... I know other aprons block food too (kinda the point) but this is a longer overall fit and really helps keep pants clean too. -The tool loop is the BEST rag holder ever created. Now you get to have a rag attached to you all the time for drying knives, wiping hands, etc. -Build quality is really excellent. Rivets are strong, stitching seems well done and uses poly thread, and nothing has come apart after about 50 hours of wear so far. Perhaps the only con I can think of is that it can be a little hot in the summer..... but you could guess that just by looking at it. Solid recommendation from me and if you are looking for a sturdy, well built apron you can use in the workshop or in the kitchen... Consider picking this one up.

I am very pleased with this apron. While the fabric is thick and durable, it isn't overly heavy. It was a little stiff when I first started wearing it, but it loosened up quickly and now it is very comfortable. All pockets (except the pen/pencil pocket) are double stitched with heavy thread and riveted with quality brass rivets. The hammer/tape measure loops are heavy duty webbing that is double stitched and riveted on. The two lap pockets have loose flaps over them which help to reduce the amount of chips and dust they collect. Nice touch! All the straps are heavy duty webbing and contact the apron through heavy brass grommets. The shoulder straps have broad pads, so they don't cut into you when you have a bunch of tools in your apron. My only complaint isn't really a complaint, but more of a comment. I am a stout guy, so the strap is too short to buckle in the back. I easily fixed this with a short length of webbing and an extra buckle set. The webbing and buckle set are black, which don't match the apron - not a huge deal to me, but if I was the one making/selling this apron, I would sell this extension, made with the same buckles and webbing used in the apron, as an optional accessory. There are plenty of people larger than 2X that would buy this apron if it fit and the extension would be a little extra income. Just saying.

I wanted a comfy and sturdy cooking apron. I spend a lot of time indoors and outdoors cooking, chopping, smoking, butchering deer and hogs, making sausage, etc. Over the neck aprons always pulled on my neck as more knives or other tools clung to my aprons and filled the pockets. Chef coats and jackets are just too warm. I tried the Woodworkers Apron in brown and it is great. All of my tools such as thermometer, tongs, towels, knives, cell phone, pens, etc fit comfortably. The cross back straps are great. No discomfort all and I wore it for 6 hours on the first day I had it and 7 hours on the next day, Easy on and off. I stitched an american flag patch dead center on the apron and it looks great. In two days I had plenty of people comment on the looks cosmetically and how it looks heavy duty. Hopefully it holds up to a lot of use. No doubt in my mind that so far this is a great apron and at great price.

Cuando llegó, lo primero que me llamó la atención fue lo que pesaba. Mucho más que otros que he tenido. Es de un material realmente recio y, como dice en la descripción, con aspecto de encerado. Se puede ajustar perfectamente y da mucha talla. Yo tengo 130 cm de pecho y barriga, y me da talla y podría dar más. Es bastante largo, un poco por debajo de las rodillas. Sólo hay que ver cómo envejece, pero de momento muy contento

I searched for the best apron for woodworking and this came up as #1, rightfully so I must say. It provides all the adjustment needed to make it comfortable. It gets more and more comfortable the more I load it up with tools. The shoulder pads and cross brace thingy at the back make this a real stable apron and are responsible for all the comfort. You can sit in it as well as long as the bottom pockets aren't full of stuff. I'm 6' tall and not skinny and it fits me fine. I would say if you're around 5'10" +/- 2" in height your experience will be the same as mine. From new it's stiff, mine is yet to gain flexibility but that's okay. It's thick and waxed though so it's not going to be typical fabric flexible. This stiffness gives you a sense of protection and I'm sure it will protect you if a chisel comes flying your way. I have a Samsung Note 8 and it fits in the cell phone pocket without an issue. As for any negatives... my biggest pet peeve is that the straps that you use to buckle it up can very easily become twisted when you take it off or put it on. Actually at least one gets twisted almost every on/off cycle. If you don't catch it you may feel uncomfortable until you fix it, kinda like a small pebble in your shoe. I've gotten in the habit of just running my hands down and untwisting whichever one needs it prior to buckling up, it's easy to fix. This happens because the straps (buckle ends) go through big round eyelets where the straps are free to twist infinitely if they wish. Again it's not that big of a deal, I had to find one actual issue. This won't be easy to clean, the washing instructions basically state spot wash only. If you did put this in your machine the stiffness of it may damage your machine. Now if you use this version for anything other than woodworking ie metal working it's going to get dirty and yucky, get the dark one for that. The last gripe (nit picking) are the hammer loops, I got the tan colored "woodworking edition" version but I'm not sure what to use the loops for. I guess a smaller head size mallet would be okay in there. I don't use an actual steel hammer and a large mallet is too bulky to be sittin' on your hip I think. I would have liked to see the features tweaked a just bit more for the woodworker but in the end you can't please everyone. I haven't tried others but I'm very happy with this one.
