Unit won't power up consistently. Sometime have to unplug and then try and restart. Sometimes takes 2 or three tries to get it to work. Great little machine otherwise when working. Also, the NIC card disconnects and have to reset it via Windows. Or go to Wi-Fi instead. Also, so far no response from the company for help. Very poor customer service. ***UPDATE**** After working with the vendor's tech support, it was determined the unit I purchased was defective. They replaced it, free of charge, even after the return period ended. The support was great. 5 stars. The replacement unit is working fine. I highly recommend this device and company. Great customer service. Never left me in the lurch. Oh, and for those comments about the "fan" noise? I believe what you are hearing is the hard drive spinning up, not the fan. Just my 2 cents. Update as of 1/1/2026 Unit ethernet fails almost daily. This was an issue when I received it and was told my support that it was a corrupted windows install and to reinstall the OS. This is the second unit of this type with this issue. I will not purchase another one going forward. If I have to rebuild thius machine again, I may as well buy another, more reliable brand.

Ive only had it for 48 hours, but from what I've tested, the short answer is that this machine is a beast. I don't know how well it will hold up over time because some of the slightest things like scrolling on Youtube(not playing a video, JUST scrolling) will make it sound like a base PS4 trying to run PS5 games if you know what i mean. Here's what I've tested so far: I have a dock with three monitors to allow me to set up to anything using USBC , which it allows for and lets me keep the two HDMI ports open. It can easily fit any type of set up you want because of the size and has rails if you want to mount it as well. I have fiber internet connection and did a test for streaming, load times on webpages are quick and there's no lag in displaying pages. Downloaded OBS, Unity 3D, Blender,Chrome, Discord, Steàm, Antivirus and a few other applications. I closed out of Chrome as a reflex but i will circle back shortly. I opened task manager and saw CPU utilization was at 100 and some disk was being used but dropped fairly quickly and memory was hovering 30-50 percent for downloads. Pretty good so far. Opened steam and loaded Persona 4 Golden, and it's running smooth at a high resolution. I set up OBS and allowed it to auto detect settings, and it said 10K rate is good for this pc, so i started a 3 minute stream and checked my phone: No frame drops, everything is smooth as can be . Very good Set up and started Unity 3D and booted chrome again to check any intensive stress in navigating the scenes, and still pretty smooth. I can hear the fans blowing on the machine, sometimes it gets loud and then it goes back quiet, but you can hear it whenever you're actively doing something. The last thing i checked was video streaming on chrome but there was no issues in lag or processing , just the fans working. All in all, my only concern is how long it will be able to hold up because it SOUNDS like it's working very hard but the form factor and power combined with the price i purchased it for makes it worth the cost for anyone looking to get into anything I've mentioned above. Edit: Bought in October 2024, this edit comes July 2025. I'm still enjoying the pc, no major issues. However I've had two certain performance related things that have happened. 1. The dock that detects my monitors and is hooked into the pc will sometimes disconnect a monitor or two. It's rare and it may be something with the cables but it's happened every once in a while(been at least 3 months since the last occurrence). 2. I tried to test Blender animations with lighting for a personal project and the frames would not run. If you close the window and reopen it, it would jump several frames ahead. This is the biggest notice. So if you're trying to get into Blender animations, this may be a deal breaker for you. Making models hasn't been a problem though. Other than these two things, i haven't had any problems.

2 days later and now the wireless adapter is totally dead.. This thing runs HOT under load.. GARBAGE! I reinstalled windows 3 times in two days.. Drivers dont fix it.. etc.. This computer is no faster than the Ryzen 7 I have mini PC SER Beelink right next to it. AMD is glitchy.. black screens etc.. So I bought this one.. Granted I am in the middle of setting this up for my business.. I always liked Intel for business. I'm downloading updates right now and office 365.. The fan is very loud.. It will be attached to the back of a monitor so I probably wont notice it much in my office. I would not buy this PC and put it in my bedroom for gaming that's for sure. The AMD Beelink SER.. is SOUNDLESS! There is no fan and I've had it for a couple years.. 1/2 the price and just as fast if you can deal with glitches in flashing active X or whatever AMD Radeon drivers are doing.. So office 365 just finished installing and now there is no fan going off like a mini hair dryer OLD school PC with 5 fans sound.. It dead quiet.. So under load this thing is a bit loud.. I will update later once I'm set up fully.. 3 stars may not be fair here..we will see.. One last here so the computer timed out and went to sleep just now.. Upon a mouse click to wake it the fan goes off.. its annoying really..BUT its right in front of me a foot away on my desk.

A wide range of low cost PC’s and mini PC’s are on the Amazon Marketplace today. The GMKtec Mini PC Windows 11 Pro Intel Core i7-1195G7 (Turbo 5.0 GHz) 32GB DDR4 1TB SSD Desktop Mini Computer marks my 5th GMKtec purchase in less than a year, this time replacing a very old -3-6100U machine. The price point for GMKtec is outstanding in my opinion. This uses an 11th Gen Intel processor, so it’s not the latest for sure, but aptly capable for a NUC form-factor computer. Unlike many of the Intel NUC products that have been offered as bare-bones systems over the years, this is fully loaded. This one came with a Lexar 1TB M2. SSD drive(chip) and 32 GB of DDR4, plenty for almost any general compute device. See my pix of the inside. I’ve been purchasing the Intel NUC’s since I could walk into Fry’s Electronics where I had to buy the NUC, the Memory, the Drive, and Window in a retail package. I’m really impressed with the price. When I bought this one, the retail price was listed at $639 and the Amazon Prime price was just over $400. At first power-up, Windows told me the process would take half an hour or so. The updates took over 75 minutes. I’m not sure what kind of processor or Internet speeds Microsoft were using as a benchmark. Passmark rates this CPU at 10,770, slow by 14th GEN standards, plenty fast for most things I can think of. I was also impressed with a 2.5Gbps LAN port, not that I have any networking gear greater, nor Internet service that is sooo fast. An earlier review on a different model that I saw questioned the legitimacy of the Windows license because with didn’t go through the process of adding a client to your Microsoft account. This is up to date. In fact I like local machine account, so I use the OOBE Bypass at the command line to re-boot into the setup screen that lets you choose a username and password. I did look into the processor specs a bit closer. The base clock speed is 2.9Ghz. The Amazon listing is honestly listed with 5.0Ghz Turbo. I’m not trying to play games on this lightweight, but the Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 is reasonable and at the time I’m typing this out, there is a video showing all of the games that are running at 1080P with good looking graphics. Regarding fit and finish, compared with my original NUC experience, the case in nicely finished steel, not machined aluminum, and the bottom cover is plastic, not metal, which I’m happy to live with at this price point. Support is another question, or should I say, important factor to consider. I contacted tech support earlier in the year regarding one of my earlier purchases. I wanted to re-install W11Pro on a larger SSD drive. I was impressed that I received a reply to my email within a day and a link to download the OS installer. Even more impressive… I also received a follow-up email a week later to confirm that everything went well. Thanks Julian! BIOS updates are available to download. It’s a manual process and such updates always take a little more attention to detail since doing things haphazardly can lead to a device that doesn’t re-boot. The first GMK MiniPC that I purchased has been running my Plex Server 24/7 with Zero issues. It’s working well even with the lightweight processor and because of that, it is saving me a lot of power over the bookshelf PC that it replaced. Everyone is bound to have a different set of experiences, mine with GMKTec have been every bit as good as the big brands that I deploy at work.
