Nice kit, equal of airfix easily
Went together very nicely, decals are very bold and the canopy can be closed or left open. I apinted it with a brush and it came out really nice! Great for the modest price.

Great Spitfire Mk V kit
This is a great kit. Very detailed representation of the Polish 303 Squadron. Some of the decals are a bit fiddly and small and the instructions are a bit confusing at times, wing tips, canopy and aux fuel tanks are all options but no explanation as to why. That apart I thoroughly enjoyed making this kit.

Revell finally make an accurate model Spitfire
Revell have been producing 1/72nd scale models of the Spitfire since the 1960s and all have had the same problem with the shape of the wing. The wing roots on the underside of the wing should blend into the lower fuselage in a gull wing. Revell has always neglected this feature and previous models had a flat underside to the wing and a difficult to fill joint line between the wing and fuselage. The new kit corrects the earlier flaw and also adds more details to the cockpit interior. This kit is the same price as Revell 04164, which has the errors, and should be the one to purchase. Ignore the one star review. Most kits don't include glue or paint anyway and is not a reason to award a five star kit with only one star

Paint not included!!!
This was a birthday gift 🎁 for my other half. It was not until he opened it that we realised that there is not paint included. This was a big let down, it needs to made more clearer that you need to purchase the paint separately. Due to this he has not made the plane yet but the parts so look very sturdy so we are hoping it will all turn out good.

Blast from the past!
I have started building model kits again over last year and a half. Thus far they have been larger Revell,AMT, Polar light models. So I have now developed some experience..I had to get Revell kits for a craft event. The classic spitfire was one I did as a teenager, so was nice to go back to this. For the money it is good value, given that it comes with glue, paint in 3 colours- green, grey-blue and medium grey. When assembled the whole thing will sit in Palm of your hand. As minimum you will need additional black, metallic grey for metallic components, and yellow. I would suggest Tamyia. You may want to use a Tamyia fine grey primer on main body and wing components. There is a need to use fine cutters, tweezers, decal fix solution. I use bluetac to mount some components for painting. You can paint some on the sprue, but then you will need to touch up. The kits have some option for landing gear up or down as well as different clear components for cockpit..however the fit and need to remove excess flashing made it fiddly. Having spent time painting interior cockpit, console and seat, adding decals etc. It ended up being completely concealed! Somewhat of a waste of time unless you leave the canopy off completely. Plus the canopy came in 3 tiny pieces which was very fiddly to fit. Why they couldn't do them in 2 piece, I don't know. Unfortunately, the glue ended up melting the plastic a bit, and this resulted in some paint run. This is very similar to my childhood experiences with smaller scale Airfix and other Revell kits. Something which did not happen with kits from the larger model kits from Revell and polar lights. Paint the top area of wings and fuselage, in the blue grey and the underneath of wings, landing gear in the medium grey supplied. The camouflage was done free hand using the supplied green paint. I suggest you have kind of a plan for the pattern, based loosely on pictures and practice on some paper or card first. This kit has very small components so good eye sight needed and steady dextrous hands. Kind of happy with this for the price and finished build over couple of days.
