5 Star Headphones (on one condition)
In short- Get the "plus" tips. As other reviewers mentioned, it improves the sound 100%! I listen to rock and metal music. I have pretty awesome setups in my car and in my house, so I figured- why not have something better when I'm on a run? I've always been hesitant on earbuds because its impossible to really try before you buy. The apple "earbuds" were awful. The "earpods" they came out with a few years ago with the iPhone 5 were what I've been using. They have decent bass delivery and sound pretty good. I'm happy with them, but as I said, wondered if there was something better. I took a chance on the Bose Soundsport and I'm glad I did.... after a little modification. Honestly I was NOT impressed with these buds in their stock form. I couldn't tell much of a difference between my free Apple earpods that came with my iphone and these $100+ earbuds. Not a bit. Taking the advice of other reviewers I put the "plus" tips on and now I DEFINATELY have a better set of earbuds. Much better punch after the switch. Rock music sounds heavy yet still clear. The stock tips as well as the plus tips are very comfortable as well and I HATE the way many earbuds squeeze into your ear canal.....so uncomfortable and gross feeling ugh! These are smooth and are not wedged into your ears at all. Great fit for me with the Medium tips. The volume toggle, "skip" function on songs, and mic work well also- just make sure you get the correct model earbud to match with your phone OS. Get the buds, get the tips, and these are a great upgrade without taking the chance on even more expensive earbuds. +Great Sound (after tips changed) +Very comfortable (and I'm picky about this) +My mic and volume work well with iOS - dumb that we have to buy another $10 set of tips to make this sound like a premium earbud....just include them! but then again its only $10...

Exceeded Expectations
I have been through about twenty sets of earbuds and in ear head sets in the last ten or twelve years and this comes as close to ideal as I have found. I've alternated between expensive audiophile in-ear sets to buying boxes of cheap throw aways. I know Bose always is suspect for overhyping and overpricing their products. At the discounted price I paid for these however, around $90, they exceeded my expectations on both counts. These headphones are specifically designed to sit loosely at the entrance of the ear canal on not inside. This seemed counterintuitive to me and I was sure they would be horrible about falling out when running as are the current APPLE headsets. Not the case. They feel somewhat loose in your ear but they actually stay put quite well. The big benefit of this approach is that they seem to use the auricle (outer cartilage area, had to look that up) to collect sound in a very natural way as opposed to driving it into the center of your brain. The clarity is incredible. I listen to a lot of podcasts and the voice fidelity is superb. I used to have to replay segments all the time because I couldn't understand what was said but that rarely happen now. Music is also a joy on these phones. It is a cliche to say "I heard stuff in that song I've never heard before" but that is absolutely true with stuff I've listened to with these. I bought the SoundSport version because they tout extra durability and I am very hard on headsets. They do appear to be quite well made and should resist a fair amount of abuse. The cords are far and away the least tangle prone that I have experienced. To extent I have used the control /mic it seems to function very well and people can hear me quite well during phone call. I highly recommend you give these a try.

Separate models for iPhone and Samsung is just stupid.
I've always loved Bose's In-Ear Headphones. I've had IE2 model before and I loved it until one of the wires just decided to detach itself from the rest. The reason why I love these are because I can't really tell if they are in my ear or not while listening to music. It's that comfortable. I've had other sets of earphones and some of them hurt my ear after listening to music for 1-2 hours. I never experienced that problem with this. I've purchased the SoundSport model so I hope this one last longer than my previous one. These are quite pricey compared to other earphones you can get. I was happy to pay this premium price for the product because I was happy with the comfort, sound quality and overall built quality. There are things I don't like about. Bose decided to offer these for iPhones and Android phones separately meaning that there is a model specifically for iPhone only and Android as well. So if you decide to get one of these, make sure you get the model designed for your device or else the volume control won't work with your phone. I've had a LG G3 when I purchased these and now I got an iPhone so the volume control button doesn't work for me :( I personally don't like this idea of separating models for each phone because if you switch phones then you are kind of stuck with the one you have unless you are in that return/exchange period. Make sure you keep this in mind when purchasing these. The wires tangle often in my pocket but I think it gets untangled pretty easily though. As expected from Bose products, these don't have that much bass. It does offer very clear sound but I can tell that other earphones have way more bass than these. Furthermore, I've noticed that these aren't very loud when I was listening to music using my G3 but I think the problem went away when I switched to iPhone. Keep in mind that, you can use the one for Samsung phones with iPhones but the volume control will NOT work. I can't guarantee that the Samsung model will work with every iPhone out there so don't risk it.

Great for exercise, not so much for commuting. A+ sound
If you have the money, these headphones are worth a shot. After going through 3 pairs of $40 Sennheiser CX300s (lost 1, the other 2 broke after ~9 months each, but I kept buying them because they fit well in my ears and sounded great for the price) I decided it was time to spring for something designed to be a little more durable. As soon as I put them in and moved around, I was glad I did. Pros: -Sound fantastic Hip hop, R&B, and electronic music all sound great through these, with rich detail and impactful bass (which still confuses me how they managed this, since they don't create a seal in your ear). The bass may be a little much for some but for me it's perfect as I like to feel my music. These sound better than the $70 JBLs I returned and much better than the Sennheisers. Equally enjoyable as my Audio Technica monitors, though they definitely sound different. I had been a Bose hater for a long time because of the supposedly "not flat" response, but as I'm getting older I'm starting to realize this is kind of bulls***, and if it sounds good it sounds good. I have my studio monitors if I want flat response. -Comfortable and secure fit At first, you might feel like these buds are constantly on the verge of falling out of your ears, since they don't go as deep into your ear as most other earbuds. But once you move around enough, you'll realize they're not going anywhere, partially due to the sharkfin thingy which really helps. I even shook my head vigorously to try to get them to fall out and they didn't budge. After about 30 minutes with them in, I could barely feel them in my ears at all. Much more comfortable than sticking something like an Etymotic deep in your ear. I could probably wear these all day without any problem. -Short cord As a short guy, I find most cords to be too long. The shorter cord means these will tangle less and get caught on fewer things. There is also a nice clip on the cord that I can clip to my shirt to keep the cord from flying around. It comes with an extension cord if you need one. -No cord noise If there is no sound playing, you will hear cord noise, but it goes away immediately once music comes on. -Look cool I got the blue color and I love it. Plus they come with a nice matching carrying case. Cons: -Because they don't create a seal in your ear, they let a lot of outside noise in. This is the tradeoff of comfort, and it's actually a good thing if you're exercising and want to be aware of your surroundings, but not so good if you use them on the subway. However, I have to say that even with loud noise in the background, these are still somehow enjoyable to listen to. It almost feels as if your head is between two speakers rather than the sound coming from inside your hear, which headphones often feel like to me. So when there's background noise, it's more like somebody just turned the speakers down a bit, but the detail is still there. -Price - For someone like me who has a hard time finding headphones that fit, these are worth the price. But depending on your ears you may be able to get something that sounds and fits just as well for cheaper. -No flat cable - not a huge deal, but would be a nice addition in future versions. Can't comment on durability yet as I just got them, but fingers crossed. I also can't comment on the mic since I use an Android, but the play/pause button does work fine. Overall, if you want something that will give you good sound, good bass, and stay in your ears without having to jam it way down in there, you should give these a shot. If you're looking to isolate outside noise or for a flat response, look elsewhere.

Great headphones!!!
I've had these headphones for about a month and half now. I've experienced absolutely no problems with them. I work in a very loud place and I can still hear my music through everything while still being able to hear necessary surrounding noise. I wear them for seven hours a day and they don't irritate my ears at all. I thought I would need the smallest tip but it's actually too small for my ears so I use the medium and the large. The tips are silicon and fit inside the ear very snuggly and do not move. The sound is great; I enjoy the bass that comes through with some songs and the undertones I never noticed before. The mic works great. I thought it stopped working at one point but simply unplugging and plugging the jack back in got it to work again. These headphones work with HTC OneRemix Android phone and my iPod touch 4th gen. I know some people have had issues with these headphones but they're just like anything else - sometimes there are a few bad ones in the bunch but one experience doesn't apply to them all. Just something to keep in mind when purchasing anything really. Hope this review helps some people!

Do not expect more than a year or two of use
Quality: Really like these headphones for a while. And unfortunately they lasted under two years while being used just once or twice per week to workout only. Service: Called bose and was offered no other option but to get a new one for $75 (same price as what is offered now on Amazon, so it's not like they're cutting me a deal). Nor were they able to offer a small credit to upgrade (for example fit bit gave me 20% off a new one after my old one broke post warranty- I appreciated that reciprocated loyalty from company to customer). With Bost it's sadly frustrating, as I like the headphones and want to buy bose products again ( I literally have their quiet comfort and wireless sport headphones in 'saved for later' shopping cart as I type this), but this is the second pair of headphones that an issue where the remote stopped working (volume and play/pause button) under conditions of light use and good care. In both phones there was no large incident that caused damage, it is just a not as well engineered product for the price. Fit/sound: When I originally bought these because I really liked the way they fit/sounds in the ear without being in the ear. Today there are other options available that have the similar feature, unfortunately I don't think I'll be buying Bose phones again.

Already in my bike bag....
I just got these today and unboxed them. I was already ready to send them back, because I have come to love my Pioneer Rayz. The sound from the Rayz is great, but they are sensitive to moisture (well rain, and lots of it). I got this pair of Bose because of the name and then because of the "Sport" label. I ride my bicycle every day, at least 15.5 miles. I do this all year round, in cold, hot, rain, sleet, and snow. Not only do these sound really awesome (I tried metal, hip-hop, classic rock and pop), but I will be able to wear them in crappy conditions. The only thing I am concerned about, is traditional headphones typically die below freezing, so I am guessing these will be the same, but I think my Rayz will be used for cold, as they are powered by the phone itself and I have used them in 12 degrees. The fit of the headphones is a bit weird for me, the medium seems a tad big, but the small feel too small, so medium it is. I have tiny ears, I was not expecting the medium to be even close. If you buy these, make sure you have the right fit as they will sound so much better. Looking forward to not having to baby my headphones in the rain, and they will still sound awesome. :)

Semi Customizable fit, stay put trail running and mountain biking, good quality sound (even at speed).
sound better than any other earbuds I've tried (ipod, electronic store etc.,). Haven't used them immersed but they certainly hold up and perform in high intensity aerobic exercise (biking, running etc.,) where sweat is flying and even rain has been falling. They are wired (i'm starting to ride more with my BT headset but I'd say the audio quality is not as good with BT) and as such recognize you're tethered to your audio source. They have a short wired lead from the ear pieces--short as in you'll likley need the phone/ipod in a chest pocket or upper arm band. They also come with an extension cord that will get you to a lower pocket. Volume/phone controls work fine. I don't profess to be a true audiophile but like the fit (multiple ear pieces for semi-custom fit) and sound better than any other earbud device I've used. I'm refined enough to know I like the sound from my Bose on ear better than these but I won't be biking/running with my on ear bose headphones either... This is my second pair (son comandeered my first set) and the first pair are going strong after 1+yr of pretty regular use (wadded into pack pocket when not in use etc.,).
