The hinges are almost invisible and functional. Perfect for jewellery boxes.

These are nice cost effective hinges for small boxes etc. with a few caveats. I had no problem with the pins falling out as some reviews have mentioned, but the hole location for the hinge pivot pin varies by a lot. Some are well off to the side of the hinge post while others are roughly centered. See photo showing centered and offset holes. This forces hand selecting pairs with the pivot pin in approximately the same location, otherwise the lid or door that these are attached to will open crooked, or bind slightly. It shouldn't be a problem for the manufacturer to get the holes centered on the post - it's just poor setup or poor tooling selection.

I ordered these after learning how to install barrel hinges. Incase your wondering, I used a 5mm bit and drill a hair more then 1/2 inch. So far seems to be working good. I would buy again.

quality control is not great. at least 20 of the hinges were useless due to the offsets between the two barrels. Still, for the price it's a decent buy because the other 30 were great.

These hinges work very well in the pen & pencil boxes that I make. I am very happy with them.

half of them were so tight I had to use a vice and channel locks to move them.

My son used these to make his clay figures articulate. I was impressed with this as he’s 12 and that’s pretty cool. He used oven bake clay. We were very careful.

Giving this 4 stars even though only 38 of the 50 hinges were use-able for my application. Of the 12 bad ones, most were not aligned (the pin was not in the center of the hinge). One didn't have any recesses cut on the short end. One was too long. One did not have a chamfer on the end of the long side and one was way to tight.The hinge pins on every one were too long and stuck out beyond the diameter of the hinge. I needed to file all of these flush with the body so that they would seat in the holes correctly. All the hinges fit perfectly in 5mm holes.For the price, my expectations were not very high. It took about 5 minutes to go through them all to find the good ones and another 10 minutes or so to file the hing pins back flush with the body.So, $9 for 38 hinges is really not a bad deal at all ($0.50 per set of hinges).
