There were no damaged pieces. The quality is very nice and the various items are very lightweight. This is not to say poorly made; just that they are not heavy. The coffee cups are small as are the soup bowls in depth. Even though the set looks like it is a formal set, the set can easily be used everyday. It clearly states on the bottom of each piece not to be used in a microwave. I’ve washed them, and it looks like every piece came through with no fading.
