Highly Recommend
Hands down my favorite notebook. The paper is thevstar of the show! You do need to understand the paper to fully appreciate it. It can handle a lot and holds up beautifully. It is especially known to make fountain ink dazzle on the paper, showing all the beautiful characteristics of the ink. The book opens beautifully and lays wonderfully flat, once trained. The paper does not bleed, unless you really overload it in ink. It is a thin, wonderfuI to touch paper. Due to the thinness you may see some light show as you turn the page, but does not affect your writing experience at all. It adds to the character of the page. It is a premium notebook, versatile, and worth every penny. Something I look forward to repurchasing. The journey of cracking open that new book to seeing it grow and morphe into its own unique piece of art. A story all its own

A lovely little everyday notebook!
I am OBSESSED with Hobonichi's Tomoe River Paper! The notebook opens flat and the delightfully thin pages hold on to the ink you put down with only ghosting, no bleeding. I've been daily carrying this since February and have been very happy with the durability - I often throw it into my purse and forget about it. If you are looking for a simple notebook that can handle whatever you throw at it, this notebook is perfect :)

Perfect
The paper is so smooth and the cover is nice and sturdy. It fits perfectly in my a6 binder. It’s a little small for it it doesn’t totally take up an a6 size it’s much smaller but it’s perfect for what I need.

Original Tomoe River Paper
This notebook still uses the original Tomoe River paper which is sadly no more. The paper is fountain pen friendly and shows off ink properties wonderfully. For those not familiar with the paper, it is very nice and silky, but thin - inks won't bleedthrough and you can even put watercolor over it, but it will crinkle and ghost, which may not be everyone's cup of tea (I really like the crinkly thin aspect of the paper, but ymmv). The cover is beautiful and Hobonichi notebooks, as always, are sturdily made and are wonderful to use.

I love all my Hobonichi products & this is too pretty...
I absolutely love this book, and it is almost too pretty to write in. I have only used two pages of it for "important" topics, but I am in love. The paper definitely feels like better quality than the paper in the current Hobonichi planners. I would buy this book over and over again, and I am in love with the cover art, so beautiful. I am thinking about buying a cover because it is just too pretty.

Works with fountain pen and iron gall ink.
Works great with my fountain pen. I've used Rohrer & Klingner iron gall ink on this paper, mostly. The few other inks I've had were similar runniness. No bleedthrough or feathering. Doesn't feel scratchy, it's very smooth against nib and hand so it's surprising how well it takes ink. But I am not a paper and fountain enthusiast to know if that should be expected. Minus 1 start because I wish the paper was thicker. I can see the writing from the other side but can mostly ignore it.

Functional little pretty notebook
I got the A6- Pretty straightforward little notebook. It would make a nice little supplement to the techo. Tomoe river paper makes it look very Slim for 120 sheets. It comes in a 3.5mm grid, the 120 sheets are divided into 4 colours, but frankly, as is the case with the techo, the grid Colours on its own are so very subtle, i am strained to tell when one Color ends and the other begins 😄. That’s not a complaint, it’s nice they keep it subtle or else it would be very over whelming. But I would have to add index tabs to keep track. Love the cover design and the high quality finish.

This is the holy grail of notebooks for fountain pen users
The Tomoe River paper can really draw out the character of your pen and ink. It's hard to believe it's the same pen sometimes. Love it!

Great note book
Love this note book the paper is great some ghosting but it’s thin paper so it to be expected. I use micron pens and paper mate flair felt tip markers and tombow markers the only bleed though issue I’ve had is with the blending tombow markers. It lays super flat when open, and the grid size is in my opinion perfect. Keep in mind that the note book is broken up in to four different sections by way of the doted grid being different colours for each section.

Superb Japanese Quality, Fountain pen friendly and light weight thick journal/ notebook
Tomoe River is a top notch paper and fine to medium nib fountain pen friendly particularly if you are not using too much of a wet ink. The remarkable feature of this notebook is that its light in spite of offering 288 pages and hence carrying a thicket notebook at half the weight makes it easier of office, journaling, travels, etc. The notebook has soft cover and opens more or less flat. Thinner but high quality pages with square grid features makes it suitable for project notes and planning notes. If offered at affordable price of INR 1800 around, this notebook is bound to storm the market. Those who use fountains, love to jot down project notes and plan, this notebook with an aesthetic cover design is just perfect. Further, the company should consider same stitched/ soft bound or hard bound notebooks in 300 to 400 pages and possibly with section dividers. Hope we get the quality at the affordable price soon if the shop or the company happens to see this review.
