This vice was the answer to keep material secure while cutting, welding, etc. It resolved a lot of frustration! So far, the build feels solid and does exactly what I need it to.

This is is a must have home owner tool. I needed to thread some black iron pipe while installing a new hot water heater. This held the pipe securely. Just make sure it's you clamp it down good. Saved me hundreds of dollars not hiring a plumber.

Pictures are somewhat deceiving. The vice I bought claimed for pipes from 0.4 to 3.5 inch capacity, however I measured and the largest diameter pipe I could use in this vice would be 2" O.D. The bolt holes were not drilled clear through, making the buyer ( me ) finish drilling , if I wanted to use it .There is a shard of metal sticking out from the clamp area which cut my hand, ( this is not my 'first day handling mechanical tools :) I had to return it. Save your money, or at least you have now been warned of what to look for if you do buy one.
