Premium build, solid tips. Comparison of ChaoQ, Meko, and Su-Pen

*by T***A on Reviewed in the United States on June 14, 2018*

There are multitudes of different stylus pens and a lot of them are the same, just re-branded. In this review, I'll be comparing three brands - this ChaoQ, the Meko, and the Su-Pen. The review is mostly geared toward mobile gaming but should be applicable for general purpose use as well. It's a bit lengthy as I compare pens I've previously used, but the short of it is, the ChaoQ is a solid performer and recommended for that premium feel. The first pen I tried was the Su-Pen, which is a premium stylus pen made in Japan, and as expected, quality is excellent. The particular version I use is a Puzzle & Dragons (mobile game) model. It has a good weight to it which makes it feel nice to handle and the fiber tip is slightly different from the fiber tips I've seen on stylus pens from China. It glides extremely smooth and the amount of pressure needed is wonderfully sensitive. Pretty much, just the weight of the pen itself will make it register. A slight con of the pen is that, it's slightly on the shorter side and might feel uncomfortable for some. However, this is only on this particular model, and the normal models are lengthier. The only other downside is that the the pen itself is pricey, at around $50 and replacement tips are around $30 for two. I've used it heavily for about half a year and even though it's worn down, it still performs great.Due to the pricey replacement tips, I decided to try a cheaper fiber tipped pen. Meko seemed to get recommended often on a forum I frequent so I decided to give that one a try. Now, there are plenty of stylus pens you'll see that are extremely similar to Meko and I'm pretty sure they're all the same and just re-branded. However, my personal experience is with this particular brand. First off, the body of the pen is extremely light, especially since I've gotten use to the weight of the Su-Pen. For some, this may be a plus, but for my personal use, I like the added weight since the fiber tips from China seem to require a bit more pressure to register. However, it might be negligible to most and the tip slides extremely smooth, especially when new. After a few uses, it feels great and feedback is solid on it. It's extremely cheap (I think I got like 3 or 5 pens with a handful for extra tips for just over $10) and if you're on a budget and like a lightweight feel, I would definitely recommend it.I stumbled on the ChaoQ trying to find a pen similar to the Meko, but with a better weight feel to it. I based my purchased on the description of the steel barrel and to my delight, it has a solid weight to it (feels slightly more than the Su-Pen) and has a premium feel to the overall build. The fiber tips are slightly different than on the Meko, in that it doesn't screw in directly to the pen. The tip slides over a little metal nub at the end of the pen, and a metal ring screws down over it, securing it in place. In initial usage, it feels ever so slightly less sensitive than the Meko, feeling like it requires slightly more pressure to register. The tip is a bit stiffer in the beginning, but after a bit of usage, the tip becomes softer and sensitivity becomes a lot a better. I've since ordered a different tip replacement from another company and will update with any differences. So overall, if price isn't of concern, the Su-Pen is definitely worth it and obviously the best of the three I've used. Both the ChaoQ and Meko are solid performers, especially for the price and you can't go wrong with either one. If you like lightweight, get the Meko. If you like premium feel, get the ChaoQ.

    Fantastic Stylus

*by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2018*

These are fantastic! My only regret is buying the 4-pack instead of the 2-pack with more replacement tips. I don't necessarily NEED more replacement tips, I just don't need 4 different styluses (styli?).Quick back-story: I recently decided to go back to school and I've also started playing around with some art/sketching apps, so I needed something for taking notes and drawing. I tried using one of the pens I got from a vendor at work which had a rubber tip so it could double as a stylus, but the tip was flimsy and the rubber didn't always slide across the screen very well. Enter the ChaoQ stylus: I've been using these every day for a few weeks now and I love them. They look and feel high quality - they would certainly not be out of place in a professional environment. Their weight is comfortable and well-balanced, and I'm loving the fiber tips (which I only recently learned was even a thing), I won't be switching back to rubber tips any time soon.Writing feels pretty natural for the most part - it's missing the drag of an actual pen on paper, but I got used to it pretty quickly. The drawing apps are definitely much easier to use now, but it's hard to draw super-precisely with such a large tip. These are perfect for generic browsing on a touch screen device though. I don't have any issues with my tablet not registering taps from one of these. If I somehow manage to burn through all 4 of these, I would not hesitate to buy these again - highly recommended!

    Stylish stylus

*by C***P on Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2017*

I have used cheap pen type styluses before and have been disappointed. These are excellent! Swipe, poke or drag these guys stay together. The extra tips are sure to help if a nib does wear out. Comfortable to use and carry. Having different colors stops the bickering among users.
