I'd tried the disc for a couple of days before getting this. The first time I put it in it was fine, second time it leaked, and then I was just paranoid when using it that it wasn't in right. It felt like it could very easily slip out of place, hence the leak. I ordered this thinking it would just make it easier to put in, but the first time I used it was an "Oooooh!" moment. I hadn't been shoving it far enough back. When I put it in with the applicator it was very obviously secure. It is like putting in a large tampon. It feels a bit weird when it pops out so far back, but it's easier than pushing it in manually. I've seen other reviews saying it is difficult to push, but I've used the large and medium pixie discs in it and both were slightly stiff at first, but slid along fine once they started moving. I think now knowing where it should be I could potentially do it myself, but I actually prefer using the applicator. Seeing as the disc only needs changing twice a day it's not like I need to carry it around, but it's pretty compact so I could if I wanted. Definitely recommend for new disc users!

I have a had a mental disc for around 7 months now and had pretty much given up as I could never get the placement right. I bought the applicator to see if it would make a difference and it’s a game changer. So much easier and correct placement every time. I was able to wear the disc on my heaviest day out at an event for almost 13 hours without issue. The process has been pretty much seamless thanks to the applicator. The 2 reasons I haven’t given five stars are that, firstly, the little handle broke immediately, this doesn’t effect use for me but may if you have any accessibility needs. And secondly, I use a large pixie disc and the applicator is slightly too small for it in my opinion. You have to start pushing it out to fit the applicator together properly which decreases the comfort level slightly when using. Overall I would say if you’re finding it difficult to insert your disk then definitely give this a try before giving up.

Gets the disc into the correct position. Very difficult to push through, pinches your skin incredibly easily.

I am using the Shordy discs and this works. I wanted to use it before leaving a review. It works with both the small and the large disc. It’s easier with the small disc because it’s small and fits better. Even though it takes a little more effort with the large disc, it does the job. Definitely recommend for anyone who is looking to start using the disc. I just switched from the Shordy cup to the disc and this has been very helpful.

I bought this as I have just started to use a menstrual disk and thought it would make it easier to put in. The applicator is very difficult to use, it has no ledge to grip when pushing the disk in which makes it very difficult to push the disk in, even with lube. I find it much easier to use the disk without this which is frustrating considering this was £20 and not fit for purpose

Had high hopes for this. I have a high cervix, and while I have been using discs for a long time, it can be a bit of struggle to make sure I get them high enough/far enough back. This is product is a faff to use and clean, but expected that and figured it might be worth if it worked really well. Unfortunately, even if you follow all the instructions, the edges of the end the disc comes out of are very sharp and hurt. I even gave it a second go, making sure I had plenty of the disc sticking out the end first, and those sharp edges still got me. For anyone that has had the plastic applicator on a tampon go a bit wrong and pinch/scratch them - this is that x 10, as it’s bigger. Also, think it will prob damage disc over time due to this if used repeatedly. Will def not be using again as it left me sore after being scratched. Edit: Just realised I can’t review the kit separately. Some parts of the kit are good - like the bag, the cleaning container, lube and wipes. Wash is ok for disc, but not sure I would use it on the body for that area. Discs themselves are not for me. Both leaked, and I think this was a lot to do with the rim of the discs not being level, as well as the oval shape. I also have very little confidence in the silicone ‘string’. I had to tuck it up quite high to prevent irritation, which had me a little worried. But my main concern was that it really felt like it could snap very easily, it stretches far too much. I rely heavily on the removal aid on discs, so it needs to be reliable and secure. I had seen other people have the string snap on this one, but wanted to try it for myself due to wanting to try some different sizes of discs. These ones are def not for me. Between the applicator and the kit, been a bit of an expensive experiment with little left to show for it. Back to Hello disc it is.

I am glad Pixie decided to make an applicator because as a first time disc user, I was having a lot of trouble getting the hang of insertion without it. It does require a bit of force to push the disc into place, especially the bigger one but I find it much much easier than doing that hands only. And it seems this is the only brand that thought of that so definitely a game changer! I was about to insert it and it was perfectly positioned on the first try.

Malgré le mode d'emploi, ce n'est pas du tout aisé de positionner correctement la coupe. Le plastique étant lisse, il est glissant et ce n'est pas facile de pousser la cup.
