Long lasting... puffs up well and quickly!
Works just fine. Puffs up very quickly with not a lot of water. Lasts quite awhile.

Great substrate for snail habitat
Bought this for my daughter’s garden snail terrarium and it’s perfect! The texture holds moisture well without getting soggy, and it’s easy to clean and refresh. I love that it’s organic and safe for her snails. They seem to love burrowing in it. Will definitely repurchase when we need more!

Good substrate for land snails
My land snail seemed to enjoy this substrate. I did notice that after switching to a different substrate, my snail’s shell started to peel and flake. I did remove one star as the substrate seemed to get moldy quite quickly, but with a humid environment that is typically expected. :)

Snails preferred substrate
I've noticed my snails behave what might be more naturally with this versus the coconut core. They seemed to avoid the coconut. With this substrate they actually burrow down into it, which seems more natural. Soak it a with water in a large Ziploc bag and it expands dramatically. For a substrate I'm sticking with this.

Works like it should
Easy to use and works just like you would think.

Perpetually wet, not in a good way.
My snail did not like the substrate at all, and it caused improper airflow in the enclosure. Yes, it is good to have substrate that holds moisture, but this one would NEVER dry (was similar to wet cardboard) leading to mold concerns fast. I personally prefer to use other substrates and mist more frequently instead of having it be perpetually soaking.

This moss is good for my snails. It keeps moisture in and snails love it. The only thing I would say on negative side, it can get quite annoying with mold after a while. Still I am ordering again
