Accurate, Reliable, and Perfect for the Apple Ecosystem
I’ve been very happy with these AirTags. We originally got them to keep track of our cats after moving to a house with a garden, but they’re also useful for everyday items like keys and other belongings. The accuracy is impressive, especially when using Apple’s Find My network. Being able to check their location from my iPhone and having everything integrated into the Apple ecosystem makes them incredibly convenient. Setup is straightforward, and they work seamlessly with our other Apple devices. We use AirTags with silicone holders attached to our cats’ collars. They’re a practical way to keep track of their whereabouts and give us extra peace of mind when they’re exploring the garden. Of course, an AirTag isn’t a dedicated GPS tracker, but it’s a useful additional safeguard. Even with the second-generation AirTag available, I think the first generation remains a very good option. If you find it at a good price, it offers excellent value and still does a great job of tracking everyday items within the Apple ecosystem. Unless you specifically need the newer model’s improvements, there’s no reason to overlook this version. The four-pack is especially convenient because you can use them for different purposes or share them with family members. If you’re already invested in the Apple ecosystem, these are definitely worth considering.

Works great
I previously tried a 3rd party one that said it would connect with iPhone, but it never did. I could pair it with my phone and get an icon on the map, but it never moved when my wife drove down the street several blocks for a test. They accepted my return request. This air tag is definitely apple friendly. I paired one of them with my phone in seconds and applied an icon to the map and drove down a few blocks leaving the tag at my house. When I parked and looked at Find My, it said that I had left my item at my house and showed me at the 4-blocks down from my house and showed the air tag at my house. So, on first test, this item works fine. $60 for 4 is not bad. I would buy this again. Update 1-11-2026 On the second test, this device did not work. I tried many times to have my wife drive down the road with the air tag in the car, and the icon never moved. I tried ALL the fixes that google search could supply, turning on Bluetooth, Locations Services, and getting the latest version operating system for iPhone. I also did the last ditch effort of turning my phone off and back on. I also tried using another one of the air tags and paired it with my iPhone. I also tried using my wife's iPhone. None of these worked. You can see why I highlighted the ALL for the fixes above. After researching this air tag, I see that it only works for about 50 feet or maybe 100. I tried it outside on my sidewalk, and it worked for 50 feet. After that it had problems. It said "no connection" and such and just had trouble after 50 feet. The research on this air tag says that they use other apple devices to transfer the signal from the device to iCloud. And, then it sends that signal finally to my iPhone. So, that is why I couldn't get any signal at my house in the suburbs. There apparently were not any apple devices sending the signal to iCloud. Duh. My friend has had results in recovering his stolen vehicle with this air tag. Who knows. I don't know if it is iPhone versions or whatever by now. I am using iPhone 17. But, we're going to try this out and see if it is just time involved in a long term search recovery. Hopefully, what they say in the videos is correct, and once an apple device records the location to iCloud, it is there for good, and I will receive that location at my phone. My friend will probably be moving around throughout the city, but that shouldn't be a problem (considering there are so many apple devices floating around out there :)) I should get a location sometime tomorrow. Will keep you posted. Update 1-12-2026 OK. This air tag is working. My friend took a couple of these air tags that I had paired with my phone and drove to work. At first, the icons just sat there on the map. It took a little time, but when I checked it again a few minutes later, there he was about 5 miles away. He texted me back and said that he was at that breakfast place. Then, an hour later, I had him tracked at another part of the city. Apparently, it takes a little time for other apple devices to send the location to iCloud and back to my phone. Also, on the block where I live, apparently there weren't any apple devices to make it work. I just checked again, and he is at another part of the city. So, this device works as advertised, and I would buy it again. Update: 2-7-2026 I bought 4 more of these air tags. I already have the last 4 applied, my wife's purse, my wallet, my keys (needed to buy a container, which worked really well), and my cat. I just tracked my wife today that showed her purse about 15 miles away. So, I am definitely a fan of these little things, and I have many more things to keep track of. My friend wanted one for his dog. Setup is also very easy. Put your phone down next to the air tag and go into Find My, pull the tab out of the air tag, and then the Find My app starts searching. It takes only a few seconds, and it is done. Then you call it a name like "wallet" or "cat", and then you choose an icon picture for it to show up on the map. I found icon pictures for all of my items so far: wallet, purse, keys, and cat. For an old timer, this is really an extraordinary piece of work. In my 30s and 40s I still needed to keep a quarter in my pocket to use a public phone booth. This technology just keeps me amazed.

Perfect for School Bags: I placed one AirTag inside each child's backpack, and it gives me extra peace of mind knowing I can quickly locate their bags if they get misplaced at school, activities, or while traveling. Great for Family Trips: We attached AirTags to our luggage and children's travel bags during a recent vacation. It was reassuring to know exactly where everything was throughout the journey. Easy Setup: Pairing the AirTags with my iPhone was fast and simple. Within minutes, they were ready to use and showing up in the Find My app. Accurate Location Tracking: The location updates are reliable and make it easy to find misplaced items. The precision finding feature is especially useful when searching around the house. Compact and Lightweight: The AirTags are small enough to fit inside backpacks, lunch bags, jacket pockets, or pencil cases without adding any noticeable weight. AirTag helped me find my cat!
I had been looking for a tracking device for my cat who likes to wander around our neighborhood and beyond sometimes. I tried several trackers designed specifically for cats, but got poor results due to lack of range, no pinpoint accuracy location, short battery times, and not wanting to have to pay for a monthly tracking service. I read about the AirTags and even though Apple officially states these are not for tracking cats, I tried it out after also reading several success stories on finding your cat. The warning was that pets might swallow them, but I think this was more for dogs. Please beware and do your research, but I felt cats wouldn't be interested in eating the tag since they are smarter, hee hee! The AirTag works with the Find My app and is super easy to install and use. It is pinpoint accurate meaning you don't have to walk all over the place to try and locate a signal or search an area where the cat might be hiding. The only drawback is that the Find My tech pings off other Apple devices to get signals and locate so if you live in a rural area or where no one uses Apple devices, then this might not be the best option. I also love that the battery lasts about a year and you can replace with a new battery when the time comes. I was skeptical but willing to try since it's an awful feeling when your beloved cat doesn't come home! Within two days of having this on my cat (with a special collar you can get on Amazon too designed for the AirTags) he decided to go on one of his lengthy prowls that would usually keep him out all night. He hadn't come home for dinner so I pulled up the app and was shocked to see his location was about a mile away in a different neighborhood! I thought the tag had malfunctioned or that the collar had come off, or someone snatched him. I would never have believed he would go that far from home. I hopped in my car, followed the GPS, and drove to where the tracker was pinging. Lo and behold, I found my little stinker Henry in someone's yard about to fight with another cat. It was dark, and I would never have found him without the tracker and the noise that it makes when you push the Play Sound feature. He actually looked baffled as to how I was standing there. I snatched him up and we drove home, and I can't tell you how relieved I was and how happy I am with my AirTag! The set I purchased came with four so I'm now using one in my luggage, have an extra for a backup, and gifted the last one to a friend. Highly recommend!

Overall good it gets the job done
Overall does the job, it does suck a little that you have to basically close by to find the tag. I use these to keep track of my cats, they like to run away sometimes. If you’re in the city great go for this but if you live in the country don’t get this. They only work by pinging of of nearby iPhones

Best Peace of Mind Purchase I've Made – These Things Are Incredible
These Apple AirTags are flat-out outstanding and deserve every bit of a 5-star rating. The one-tap setup with iPhone is as simple and seamless as Apple promises—literally took less than a minute per tag to get all four up and running. I've got them on my keys, wallet, luggage, and backpack, and knowing exactly where everything is at all times through the Find My app is genuinely a game changer. The precision finding feature with the directional arrow is impressively accurate when you're hunting something down up close, and the vast Apple device network means coverage is practically everywhere you go. Having a 4-pack is the way to go because once you use one, you'll immediately want to tag everything else. They're compact, barely noticeable, and the battery life is excellent. Whether you're traveling, heading out to the RV, or just tired of tearing the house apart looking for your keys, these little tags deliver real, everyday peace of mind. If you're in the Apple ecosystem and haven't tried AirTags yet, stop waiting—this 4-pack is absolutely worth every penny.

Everyday use
I use the Apple AirTag every single day and it’s easily one of the most useful Apple accessories I own. I keep one attached to my keys, and before getting it I was constantly wasting time searching around the house or checking pockets and bags. Now I just open the Find My app and locate them in seconds. The precision finding feature works surprisingly well and guides me right to my keys, especially when they end up between couch cushions or under a seat in my car. I’ve also used it while traveling by keeping one in my backpack and luggage, which gives a lot of peace of mind. Battery life has been great, setup was effortless, and it integrates perfectly with my iPhone. The only thing to note is you’ll probably want to buy a holder or keychain separately since it doesn’t come with one. Overall, this has become one of those everyday items I never think about until I need it — and when I do, it works flawlessly. 5 stars.
