Item is as expected. Looks just like the picture online. Soft, thick. well stitched leather sized as expected. Comfortable. I consider the price reasonable. I find cowhide lasts longer than deerskin though I like both. I am working with wood this summer, demolishing a shed, cutting up small volunteer trees, etc. I'm using a lightweight reciprocating saw and keep wearing through my deerskin work gloves so I appreciate the cowhide.

Excellent gloves and outstanding value! Very soft leather (feels as soft as goat leather, but it's cow leather), great fit (I purchased L and XL and they fit as expected), quality stitching. I am looking forward to using these in the garden. By far, the best gloves I've ever purchased, especially for the price.

If you want some great quality leather work gloves or just some awesome leather gloves to keep your hands warm, look no further. These genuine cowhide gloves are heavy duty but soft and comfortable. The gloves even smell good!

I read wildly differing reviews of these gloves and took a chance. It's hard to know what size to order when some say they run small, some say they run large, and they are made overseas. My hand measures 7.5 inches around my palm above the thumb and 7.25 inches from the base of my hand to the end of my middle finger. I ordered a SMALL and they fit fine, slightly loose and quite comfortable. There is a little extra room at the tip of the fingers. You ladies with long nails will appreciate the extra room at the tips. I wore these excellent gloves to attack the thistles in my shrubs and I did not get stabbed by thorns at all! There are 2 versions of these gloves, one with elastic at the wrist and one with a cinch cord. I have a teeny tiny wrist (5-5/8") so I chose the cinch cord. It's easy to tighten with the cord, and to loosen simply pull back on the plastic tab. The gloves stayed on comfortably. As to the smell - they are made of leather and smell mildly like leather, duh! They are made to work on roses, not smell like roses. They are not waterproof, which is fine with me, I generally do not garden in the rain. I think an application of SnoSeal or silicone waterproofing spray would probably work if desired. I do not know how these would last if used for things like bricklaying, but for gardening they are terrific and very affordable.

They feel pretty nice, at least when they're new. A decent balance between being able to feel what you're doing and protection from sharps. I use lighter-weight gloves for most tasks - wrenching, yard work, home improvement, etc - but wanted something a little tougher for situations with sharp edges, points or thorns. I think I've been able to poke myself through these once or twice on some pointy plant or other, but for the most part these are good upgrade over your basic thin gloves. It's a tradeoff, since they're heavier and stiffer than the thinner mechanics gloves I prefer. But they're good to have around when you need them.

These gloves are well made, are comfortable, fit my hands just right, and are holding up well in tough work environments.

Love these gloves. Very comfortable and strong. I have been using them for splitting and stacking wood, and they are still just a soft and strong as when I purchased them.
