I totally enjoy this scent. It smells fresh while also sophisticated. It is what is known as a Chypre scent. Chypre meaning Cyprus, so its scent is woody, mossy, a forest-like smell, not sweet. It's the opposite of a juvenile, sweet scent. It is fresh and sophisticated. It may take a couple of times wearing it to get used to it, but once you do, you'll love it. I know I'm going to enjoy it to its last spray. The bottle is smaller than anticipated, but that's ok. I still love it. The scent is lasting on my skin 5 to 7 hours. That's very good longevity for a scent. Also, I've gotten compliments while wearing it. It's definitely a keeper. Would I recommend this scent?? Yes, very definitely. ~Verified Customer

This is fragrance is is Authentic and a wonderful everyday use for the mature woman.. The appearance of the bottle is easy to place in a pocket book and it is my sister's favorite scent... looking Clinique Aromatics Elixir is a wonderful gift for an individual , ( an Ideal gift for Mother's Day ). I love it. Excellent fixation and the scent gently lingers on the skin. Keep in mind it’s a chipre scent, but not as strong as others - I love chipre perfumes. I love using a bit to go for my daily life. It’s sophisticated.

Been wearing this for 40 years and it still smells the same. I’m not sure what others are talking about. I will purchase again. I like buying the little bottle so that is doesn’t go stale. Young and old alike complement me. One little spray is plenty with any scent.

This Smells So Good! But it is So Strong! Instead of putting a dap on my wrists? I put a small dab on my ankles. Ha. My Husband Loves it too.

Use very sparingly, but scent will intensify and linger for hours

There is an older lady (70s) works with me and every day we knew she had arrived because we would smell her. She smelled of liniment, joint and muscle rubbing lotion. And it was loud. Several of us in the Lab have allergies and migraines due to scents (that's me). So eventually I had to talk to the manager and the manager had to ask her several times to refrain from using scented items in the lab (the hospital has a Fragrance Free policy - ANY fragrances). Eventually she stopped wearing that mess. Fast forward to me looking for salon/shampoo/conditioner scents [L'Air du Temps - if you too are on a search for that type of smell by the way] anyway I searched through vintage scents and saw people claiming Aromatics Elixir was fresh and sophisticated. I said Oh that's probably a good salon scent! NO!! IT WAS THAT LINIMENT MEDICINE SMELL!! OMG. I, you know, I was *sigh* I was taken aback that this very perfume is the one she had been wearing all alone - but at least now I learned what to avoid. This smells like something that would keep bugs away if you were outside though. It's kind of like Youthdew. That herbal earthy "hippy" medicinal smell. It's not shampoo (I think even Aveda has some oils they're trying to sell like these too for a while now that I sent every single one of them back because of). But yeah. It's not anything fresh and sophisticated like we think of modern days. It's definitely a 1960s type of smell. Then cost for the small bottle was fine. And it didn't change as it went, it just sort of died off after a few hours. I dared not spray it on me; I sprayed it on some tissue and dabbed that on my wrist (after smelling the cap). If you spray this, you WILL run people off and people ARE talking about you behind your back. Overapraying this is hazardous to some of us so please keep it a personal amount.
