Yes, these are sold as a pair, and pair consists of A and B units, and this is how they must be used - A in pair with B - because these WDM - Wave Division Multiplexing type units, that uses only 1 fiber to communicate with each other, and thus, A side will use 1310/1550nm and, B side - opposite of 1550/1310nm wavelength division. This is how these particular single fiber WDM units work

Anyone have a 450 ish ft patch cable that they can recommend? Doing a run through buried conduit.

Typically full hd cameras will not consume more than 24mbit/s bandwidth, and since these are 1G (1000mbit/s) converters it is more than enough. But one thing you need to note, that these are non-poe media converters, so they will not power up camera via same rj-45 cable - power needs to be supplied separately
