Just get it
I originally got this to carry my laptop but found that this backpack would be the perfect companion to travel with. It holds an impressive amount of items and surprisingly does not feel heavy despite the many items I added inside of it. It is very comfortable to wear. Material seems sturdy and of good quality. Many compartments so it can serve many purposes.. not just for a laptop. Best backpack purchase I have ever made. Excellent value for the money if you are looking for a great backpack!

Spacious backpack 😁
Great backpack for school. It carries both my lecture and lab stuff, so I don’t need to carry multiple bags. Still feels comfortable to carry around with all the stuff I have in my bag. Overall, great backpack if you have a lot of things to carry.

One of the best backpacks I’ve had
This has been my favorite backpack by far. It isn’t too big or too small and can be adjusted to do both. There are many pockets and pouches to organize your gear. It appears to be very durable (I haven’t had it long). I use it for work and for travel and have been very pleased with its performance. It would be cool if they made more color options. I definitely like the look of it too, it’s sleek and unobtrusive. Pros: - carry on size - lap top and iPad compartment - large middle compartment that can fit two packing cubes - many organization slots - adjustable bottom straps depending on what size you want the backpack to be - whistle - appears to be very durable - novelty straps to fit different sizes shoulders - front handle - easily accessible front pouch Cons: - limited color options

Great utility computer urban hiking backpack!
Smooth and easy to wipe down; not overly fancy - so hopefully folks won't be eye-catching for thieves. A lot of zippered pockets and great smooth zippers so a lot of my stuff can be logically separated. A real laptop sleeve which actually won't let it hit the bottom of the bag/ground. The backpack has the comfort chest and comfort waist buckles when you carry extra heavy loads to distribute the load. The size is perfect with side and bottom straps to expand or slim down as needed. So far, it feels durable.

Best commuter bag period.
Happy with this bag caught it about 60 bucks less retail, helps for my commute, have a 15.6 monitor plus books, cords, couple of phones, a 40 Oz insulated cup and x 2 water bottles fit on side. For those who commute this is a perfect bag.

A step down from my older Router bag
i have an older router bag from 2012 and one of the biggest letdowns is the waist strap has to be completly removed if you don't want it in the way. My older bag had a hidden pocket you could tuck them away into so they were always attached to the bag. The space while this is the same type of bag feels like its less effective. Pockets and man storage compartment just don't feel like they store things as effectively as my old router bag. To that point i took everything from my old router bag and tried to store it in this bag and it barley fit compared to my old router bag. My old router bag even had ample room to spare. There are also a lack of pen holders compared to my old bag. Disappointing as i keep a handful of pens, pencils and highlighters in my old bag. because things are so tight storing them horizontally just is not an option with how cramped the front pouch is. The upside down pocket is a joke. Why make a pocket with soft fabric for fragile things with a pocket that will drop things to the floor as you open it. The lack of a sunglasses pouch is also another major letdown. In my opinion North Face really went backwards in design with this new router bag style. The only thing i like is the color.

The shortcomings add up to make this otherwise great bag, mediocre.
40L North Face Router somehow holds less than my old 36L North Face Surge. The front flap compartment is totally worthless and it takes space away from the padded organization compartment where you would normally store pens and stuff. The pen organizer compartment on the old Surge used to go twice as deep, which was helpful for tossing in something that you wanted to have quick access to but did not necessarily have a dedicated spot in your bag, like gloves or a hat. It is very comfortable and the laptop compartment is well designed. I also like the midpoint grab handle as it is very helpful for putting the bag in the car or retrieving it from the passenger seat when getting out as it is naturally a balance point when the bag is loaded. The water bottle pockets are a definite improvement over previous bags.

One of the best from North Face
An ideal backpack for travel. The quality is exceptional—as expected from The North Face. I had been looking for a backpack over 30L for a while and finally got this one on a great deal. The shipping was fast, and the backpack’s build quality is top-notch. It has ample space for all essential travel items. Whether you’re a frequent or occasional traveller, go for it—you won’t regret it.

Excellent
Honestly, I couldn't be happier with this backpack. I was looking for something spacious, durable, and comfortable enough to handle long days on the move, and the North Face Router hits every single mark. Massive Capacity: The space inside is incredible. Whether I’m packing tech, extra layers, bulky items, or a full weekend's worth of gear, everything fits with room to spare. The compression straps make it easy to cinch down when it’s not full, so it never feels sloppy. Top-Tier Organization: Every pocket feels thoughtfully placed. The dedicated laptop sleeve gives solid peace of mind, the fleece-lined pocket is great for quick-access delicate items, and the admin section keeps smaller essentials from getting lost in the bottom. Unbeatable Comfort: Even when loaded to the brim with heavy gear, the harness and back padding make carrying it effortless. The weight distribution is spot-on, and the straps never dig into my shoulders. Tough Build: You can feel the quality right out of the box. The materials, stitching, and zippers are heavy-duty and built to take a beating without showing wear. I genuinely like everything about this pack. If you need a reliable, high-capacity backpack for daily commutes, work, or travel, this is worth every cent.
