quality strings, I use them also on Irish tenor banjo as the gauges suit my banjo. They hold their sould a long time and have a fresh clean sound. Good value for money

A good sounding string at a really good price. Lasts well and sounds good through the life of the set.

There's quite a lot of waste cutting them to size But besides that they are good quality strings I will buy them again

Consistently good quality strings. There aren’t many companies out there that do Octave Mandolin strings - these are great - bright tone with some depth in the lower ranges.

Not much to say really. I use D'Addario on all my instruments and have done for years. Excellent and consistent quality with great sound and playability. I love them but you may not. Choice of strings is such a very personal thing but I'd recommend that you at least give them a try.

At last I've found the right gauge strings for my Octave E Mandola. I tune it to DADA and these are the first set of strings I've found that their gauges fit almost perfectly with this tuning, giving a nice light play. Tone is great, time will tell how long for.

Exactly as described - good strings, good tone and they last.

One of the A strings snapped at the twist while I was tuning-up during first fitting. I was hooked up to DAW tuner so I was nowhere near full tension. I checked the tail piece, and there were no signs of any sharp edges etc. The break was actually over smoothly curved metal. After reading other reviews it looks like this is is a recurring problem with this product. I turned the string around, snipped off the faulty loop, made a new DIY loop and tuned-up. Don't know how long this string will last. The strings sound punchy, brassy and loud. I normally use singly bought guitar strings with lighter gauge on the G and D strings on this OM. The tension feels pretty high on the bass side with these D'Addario strings. I know that a lot of players are comfortable with this, but they're not for me.

As will all products from d'Addario, it's quality!

Drei Saiten haben gefehlt und eine war in zwei Hälften zerlegt. Musste mir nun einen neuen Satz bestellen und nochmal warten. Diese Saiten bestelle ich auf jeden Fall nicht nochmal.

J'ai monté ces cordes sur un "Bajo Sexto" (Guitare acoustique Mexicaine 12 cordes) accordé en La (A), et de plus en Quinte comme le Mandocello: A-E-B-F#-C#-E Du grave à l'aigu (Accordage de Robert Fripp en Do (C) Depuis 1985, mais une tierce mineure plus bas). Le résultat est absolument étonnant. Évidement, il manque les 4 cordes aigus spécifiques au "Bajo Sexto" et la, il suffit de monter des cordes de guitares acoustiques normales, je précise, cordes "Plain" filés plats et non filées rond ou "Round Wound" en Anglais, la tension étant trop forte. Au lieu de bassiner l'auditoire avec les sempiternelles reprises qui font plaisir au plus grand nombres, mais qui n'apporte rien à la Musique elle même, de grâce, il faut expérimenter de nouvelles solutions pour un nouveau siècle avec un nouveau répertoire. Logique, non?

I almost bought a new octave because it sounded bad. These strings brought it back to life. Great product.
