Organic - Cranberry - Pure Pressed Juice - 750ml

Perhaps has similar a flavor profile as Lakewood Organic Cranberry juice (not from concentrate), albeit more costly. The Biona Organic Cranberry juice is definitely richer and has more complexity, e.g., more astringency and tart 'punch', than Knudsen Organic Cranberry juice (from concentrate). Unfortunately the country of origin is missing from the label; all it specifies is 'non-EU product', which suggests it is from the U.S. In that case, it is surely not worth the premium price over domestically available U.S.-grown organic cranberry juice (either Lakewood or Knudsen brands).

In my estimation the best product for UTI's or UTI prevention after antibiotics because no sugar (which feeds UTI's) or other irritating ingredients included. So the cranberries can get to work coating the bladder and preventing infection from sticking. The taste is sharp, which I like, the health benefits are tastable!!

Regular cranberry juice drinks are about 27% cranberry juice from concentrate. This Biona juice says it is 100% pure. So it is not that much more expensive in terms of the cranberry content. So if you dilute this Biona at 4 to 1 with water, (which gives you about the right taste IMO), you get the same cranberry content as with most juice products but without the sweetener. And it`s pure organic too. But this juice may not please the sweet toothed.

Got my first UTI (blood, pain, urgency). Everyone told me to take antibiotics. When I finally got through to the GP, he told me I could end up with kidney problems if I don’t take the medication. As I couldn’t get to the pharmacy until 2 days I quickly got this juice, Ocean Spray cranberry drink and cranberry tablets (if you look at my other reviews you see which ones). Started to take this the next day. Took about 5-6 tablets a day, plus a carton of juice (which is mostly sugar, but at this point I didn’t care) and a glass of the Biona juice. In 3 days I had no symptoms! The juice is tart and strong, but if you mix it with shop bought cranberry drink then it is very drinkable. When reading medical papers online, they all emphasise that research is inconclusive on cranberry and UTIs and don’t really promote it as a cure. More like complimentary to antibiotics. Reading other women’s experiences, I don’t think my case was a miracle! I am so happy I didn’t have to take antibiotics which would have ruined my gut microbiome again and maybe made the UTI chronic.
