Sea Monkey Volcano kit. Teeny Tiny Swimmers.
The volcano kit arrived and I set it up on a window sill. There are instructions included but there are also plenty of good youtube videos showing how to set the tanks up. I have put the tank on a heat mat as it is still chilly here and they hatch and grow better in warmer conditions. I filled it up with bottled spring water and added the first packet. I added the second packet a day later and gave the tank water another good swish around with a turkey baster to get all the salt crystals dissolved. There is no pipette or sea monkey air pump ( Aqua Leash ) with this kit so you'll need something to stir the water and something aerate the tank ( I have a plastic spoon, 10ml pipette and a turkey baster ). As the water was a bit on the cool side despite the heat mat, the hatching wasn't immediate but after 3 full days I have had about 20 tiny Sea Monkeys swimming around in the tank. The warmer the water, the faster they would grow so mine are growing slowly. They started hatching on the Wednesday so I will give them their first small feed on Monday and see how they get on from there. Whether they survive or not from then on will be down to me. The tank came as described and after following the instructions and a few youtube vids my Sea Monkeys have hatched . They are really tiny when they hatch ( like pin head small ) and hard to spot so you have to let your eyes adjust to the tank water in order to sea them and you need to be really close to the tank. 20 Sea Monkeys isn't a bad first hatch to start with so I'm quite happy. ( Aqua Dragons kits have a lot more eggs so you get a large first hatch but then a lot might die off ) I'm also using a grow light to see if I can get a little bit of natural algae growing in the tank to provide natural food. So the tank is sturdy enough, wasn't expensive, the eggs hatched as expected and hopefully I'll be able to enjoy raising my new Sea Monkeys.

Sadly disappointing
I've previously bought a Original Monkey kit when my 1st Granddaughter (now 8) was younger & had no issues at all & my g/d loved seeing them grow, so much so I purchased them again as a Christmas gift for my 3y old G/D as her Sister kept telling her about them. We we're all so excited setting it all up but disappointingly this time not 1 single Sea Monkey hatched. We followed instructions to the letter, as we did last time & I know its not guaranteed they would all hatch but explaining to a 3yr old who has heard her sister talk about these for such a long time that no Sea Monkeys have hatched... there was tears 😪. As others have said I'm not sure if it is a bad batch of eggs but agree it is very disappointing. I have tried to contact the seller to ask if I could just purchase some more eggs (as I was hoping if I could get some more then the g/k wouldn't know 😬) but sadly I haven't heard back & don't know how to just buy the eggs. So this time it was a big fail.

Fun and Surprising!
EA Monkeys Kit Mystery Egg Refill any age, easy to use with critters rapid growth rate :- The EA Monkeys Kit Mystery Egg Refill is a fun and quirky little treat for anyone who loves surprises! These refill eggs are perfect for adding to your collection or continuing the fun of the original EA Monkeys Kit. Inside each egg, you’ll find a new, adorable monkey figure, adding to the excitement of unwrapping and discovering what’s inside. What I love most is the element of surprise. The mystery of not knowing which monkey you’ll get adds an exciting twist, making it a fun experience every time. The quality of the monkeys is great—they’re detailed, colourful, and sturdy, perfect for display or play. The refill packs are a great value, as they allow you to expand your collection without needing to buy the whole kit again. Plus, they’re small and easy to store, so they won’t take up much space. Overall, the EA Monkeys Kit Mystery Egg Refill is a delightful, entertaining option for collectors and fans of the kit. It’s affordable, fun, and adds an extra level of excitement to the original kit. Highly recommend for anyone who loves a good mystery and cute collectibles!

Successful hatching and great for 5 - 7 year olds
My five year old son loves his sea monkeys. They took a few days to hatch and I was worried it was too cold (our house is lower than the recommended 18 deg C) but after a few days they did hatch and grew - we’re now on third generation monkeys! My son (and I) love watching them, and these grow larger than the “Aqua Dragons” alternative available on Amazon that I bought for my other son (who is 7 and also very interested in his sea monkeys, and better at feeding and oxygenating his, if you’re wondering about which ages enjoy this), although not so prolific at hatching and reproducing as the “Aqua Dragons”. The largest sea monkey female is a good 1cm long and very cool looking with her waving fins and visible eyes. The aquarium itself (Mars) is the reason I docked one star, because it’s very small so it’s difficult to prevent the water going cloudy, and the plastic isn’t as clear as it could be. But the sea monkeys do seem to like swimming around the planet scenery so it’s nice to not just have an empty tank. I would buy again.

Bought them and was disappointed that after 2 days the 7 that hatched all seemed to have died. We left it alone and a few days later there were 2... then 4... nine days later and I just counted 21! Four are huge! If yours die right away, don't just give up. Poke any eggs along the surface back down and wait! My kids love them. If you have issues ordering more food. Yeast and Spirulina can be used :) They love algae

Mine have been going great! I’ve had them for about a month now. I think I’ve got a fairly solid colony of about 15-20 shrimp. There’s just a lot you have to keep in mind if you want them to hatch; they’re not as easy as they seem. Make sure they’re kept in a warm room. I keep mine near a window, which promotes algae growth (good for oxygen and food!). I also stir my tank with a spoon twice a day, about 15 rotations per stirring session. This helps distribute oxygen throughout the tank. For feeding, I see how “dirty” my tank is whenever I stir. I also check the lines that run down the shrimps’ backs - if they’re not visible, they’re hungry. Using this method, I’d say I feed them every ~4 days. Also, be sure to top up the tank when the water gets low as well, because it restores the salt in the tank (prevents bacteria). I’ve just been using bottled water. I’d also buy some aquarium salt if you wanna be EXTRA safe, but I wouldn’t use it unless a bacterial outbreak occurs. Lastly, don’t panic if you notice the babies dying at the start. You’ll probably get a ton of babies (‘squirts’ I like to call them), but not all will make it to adulthood. The majority won’t. That’s just how it is, so don’t be too rough on yourself! All in all, great kit. You just need to know how to use it. Make sure you keep that tank warm!

had lots of monkeys in this kit, not unlike some where in the end you only have 2 or 3
