Very happy with this NVME Enclosure. Depending on what NVME drive is being used I have seen Read and Write speeds past 7000mbs. Internal fan is quiet I can not hear it. Drive does end making some heat after a long file transfer but performance does not decrease. I do wish the cable it came with was longer and the only issue I had was the aluminum shim it came with was useless when trying to cool the NVME and needs some thermal paste between the lid and metal shim otherwise heat transfer is poor. plus adding thermal paste not only helps drastically with cooling the drive it also keeps the shim stuck to cover. I just ended up using a zip tie to hold a small 40mm fan on the front to cool drive. Soldered up a USB cable to power the fan with 5 volts off PC

Great external enclosure, super fast, bus-powered, and has its own fan. After seeing the Black Friday deal put this within reach, I couldn’t resist having the ability to use external drives as quickly as my internals. I’m done with spinning drives, this is what we’ve been waiting for.

There is zero air circulation thru this enclosure. My Gen3 M.2 got too warm for my comfort level with the enclosure cover in the closed position. I slid the inside piece out and things cooled down to an acceptable level. And my Gen3 is the slower variety that transfers files at around 1200Mbps. And it still got too hot for my liking. The provided "heat-sink & thermal pad" are absolutely useless inside this enclosure. I think I'll save them for another adventure. It's really easy to slide the middle out for cooling purposes before use, but it doesn't seem like it should be this way. Also the M.2 retainer "screw" is a crumbly piece of pseudo rubber. It will not last, good thing they give you three of them (wonder why?). I do not have a Gen4 or Gen5 M.2 to test in this enclosure but, I have no doubt it is capable of amazing transfer speeds. The controller chip they use is plenty fast, it's just the lack of ventilation and the poorly executed hold down 'screw' that gets it only three stars from me. I may eventually just drill a bunch of holes thru the outer aluminum cover to gain some circulation and see if that helps. If I do, I'll update.

I love the simplistic tool free construction of this external SSD enclosure. The enclosure has a built in fan and it is thermostatically controlled by the board in the enclosure. No need to worry, as the device should sense when to turn on or off the fan. Very silent in operation so far. Speeds are very good, rated to 40Gbps and with the current Nvme memory I have installed, I am seeing speeds as fast as, if not faster than the installed memory in my M4 Mac Mini. The all aluminum enclosure should dissipate the heat quite well, but a note: the heat sink and silicone heat pad do not seem to make contact with the external case, so not sure how well the heat will be transferred for dissipation. So far, I am very pleased with the look and performatnce of this enclosure, and it sits very nicely on my Mac Mini.

Awesome yes it works all incl. my new samsung 990 pro 4tb & SATA the people invent this external case is working easy perfect. If you looking kind like this go for it. But I just order one more thanks to seller ;) :)
