Did the job and were the OEM pads from Akebono (the original GM supplier).

Do not buy this. GM did a product change, cutting off the ends of the pad. Increases stopping distance and pedal force required. The only possible reason I can think of for this is to nudge people towards buying a new car. Get the "Professional" series, it's cheaper and is the full size.

I recommend OEM parts for brakes. Good braking makes a difference in the initial test drive, and this is one area car makers don't cut corners. You're saving money by changing your own brakes, why use generic parts? Amazon prices make it hard to justify using anything else.

These pads fitted ok for my chevy Malibu and are quiet, but they are much smaller than my original brake pads. Not sure if GM redesigned the Pads or these are not really GM OEM pads!!

So far good, pedal feel seems similar but the pads are much different than original pads with smaller lining shape. I have replaced pads & rotors several times over 80k miles due to pedal judder so I will give the OEM pads a shot. Must have made a change from original pads due to some problem. Note the instructions did not show the outboard shim shape properly which has a cutout versus inboard pad.
