The type without the baseplate (sunk into concrete footing) is a rebar peg 220—300mm. The latter is trickier to set up whilst concrete is curing, the whole thing needs a timber cradle or similar so a) it doesn't tilt over out of perpendicular and b) so it doesn't sink into the wet cement. You also need to think about leaving 20-30mm between the underside of the bracket and the top of the concrete footing, to allow tightening of the nuts with open ended spanner (peg type only) **Q: Will these brackets (6) support a 5.2 x 3 meter carport with pitched roof using lightweight tiles.** A: Hi not sure how much help this will be, however, I have use 6 of these holding 4 corner and two centre posts over a 26 ft pergola covered with 12 ft long perspex sheets. The timber construction is really over engineered using 6x2 plus roofing spars. I bolted them down and faces westerly so it's had some serious winds hitting it and it's never budged. The timers uprights are also bolted through the adjustable section at the bottom. The brackets are substantial with good adjustable thread section to get everything level. I would deffinately buy again. If there is one thing I would do is spray them with a zink spray before fitting, one of the 6 is showing rust. They are brilliant for kerping bottom of your timber from getting wet and rotting. **Q: What are the width of the side panels?
