When my trust iPod Classic 7th Gen finally displayed the "Red X" kiss of death for the HDD, I thought it would be the last one ever owned. I couldn't justify the price of the latest iPod Touch 256GB. After stumbling across a few videos online about how to replace the HDD, this amazing gadget popped up. The hardest part was opening the iPod chassis, so be prepared to spend a few bucks on some metal spud tools, but not too much that you'll be upset when they are ruined. The actual install of the PC board is super simple, just be sure to read the directions completely and watch a few videos on how to remove and re-insert the ribbon cable that connects the drive to the mainboard in the iPod. Can't fault this device for the difficulty opening the iPod chassis, that's all on Apple! For a little money (this PC board to replace the HDD), the micro-SD card that suits your needs, the tools to open up the case; and a few hours of time, you'll end up with an iPod that works good as new! I even doubled the memory capacity!

Plug and play for the most part. A great way to give an old ipod video new life and expand storage capacity by a lot. Cannot comment on durability as it's only been in my Ipod for a month. Relative to value, that is going to be subjective, but for me it was worth the money spent.
