Make the gardener in your life happy.
Got rid of our 25 year old Hardee dial controller (still worked), and put in this Wifi enabled one. Went in very smoothly, connected to my network immediately. Installed the phone app on my wifes phone. She says being able to start any sprinkler station and set the time from her bed in the morning or the den in the evening is one of the best birthday presents she every received!

Functional and wifi-capable sprinkler controller
I purchased this unit for it's controls on the unit. For this particular application, the controls could not be only via the app. I did, however, want app access. This unit does offer both. It is a no frills unit and the programming is reminiscent of a old Hunter's controller. You select the zone, then the zone run time, and finally the zone's start time. You follow this sequence for each zone. There is no default run time and as best I can tell, you have to set a start time for each zone or it will not run. My other controllers will start the watering sequence if you set a general start time. There is no zone wiring test, like my other controllers. Granted, those controllers cost twice as much. You can attach a picture to each zone, which is very helpful. The mounting bracket allows easy installation, but can let the controller rock when pressing the buttons. Wi-Fi performance is good. Problems that I encountered were not being able to set the start time at the unit, had to use the app, and non helpful customer support. At the unit, you cannot increment the hours for the start time. I emailed customer support and while they responded within six hours, it was a standard response with absolutely no help. I deducted a star for the lacking customer support and another for not being able to set the start time at the unit. I added a star because it is easy (from the app) to add multiple start time for a zone) For example, I have a zone six that requires longer run times because of the slower sprinkler rotor times. I wanted to split the run time to minimize water run off. Within the zone, I just added a second start time, very easy. In summary, this is a capable sprinkler controller that has minimum frills. It only has a six month warranty and customer service did not inspire confidence. I would install it immediately so that I'd there are any problems, you can return to Amazon

Good WiFi controller at a reasonable price
My old Rainbird sprinkler controller had aged and needed to be replaced. This controller with its Wi-Fi capability was easy to install and extremely easy to program using my iPhone. I would highly recommend this sprinkler controller.

Reliable so far
Works well and I like the remote capabilities. UI could be a little clearer, with cleaner separators between zones. A bit tricky when you want to control it manually instead of from the phone.

Worth the price despite the poorly written advert
CONS: The Amazon advert DOESN’T tell you what app you need to control it. I had to find “GeniLife” on the Briidea website. Can’t set time in one minute increments (ten minute increments are really ridiculous). Doesn’t have “smart” feature to run in sequence, so you don’t have to calculate when the next timer should start. This makes running multiple zones at multiple times more work than necessary. Had to change my iPhone to 2.4GHz to pair the app with the sprinkler controller (but could change back to 5GHz once connected). This was a huge PITA to figure out. The Amazon advert should tell us these things. The manual is written for the display, not your smartphone. It’s impossible to see the display outside, so it’s guesswork to program it. Still can’t find a manual for the GeniLife app. so I can get the most out of the controller. How do I use “Multiple zone”? Does not have a “Daylight Saving” setting. This is also ridiculous. PROS: It works. An 8 zone WiFi controller at this price is a great deal, even with the shortcomings on the Amazon listing, and the lack of documentation.

Great controller
I don't like to spend too much money on things when I don't have to. This is a great wifi sprinkler controller for $60. The app is easy to use, all I did was hook up the controller and programmed the rest from my phone. So much easier than even the old easy to program orbit controllers.
