SODOLA 24 Port 2.5Gb Switch,Web Managed ,24x2.5G Base-T Ports, 2x10G SFP+

I picked up a couple of these to upgrade my home network and connections, as I prefer everything hardwired instead of using wifi. I'd upgraded to 2gb fiber internet many months ago but only more recently began adding other items that actually had 2.5gb ports, and needed to swap out my old 1gb network switches. These were the better bargain I could find at the time for the price, quality is fine, and mine doesn't get overly hot. I only use the ethernet ports though. It is nice that they are two rows of four, so it's a little more compact than a longer one where all 8 ports are lined out. It's a bargain, it handles 2.5gb, I'd definitely buy again. Just plug in your internet and off you go, no need to mess with settings or otherwise.

Love this switch so far. Rock solid stability, fast, and runs cool and quiet (passive cooling--no fan). And for an all-metal chassis with EIGHT 2.5Gbe ports the price ($43 not on sale!) is incredible. Very happy with this little guy. I have mine sitting in an open wire rack shelving unit though, so can't say how it would fair in an enclosed space or with poor ventilation.

This switch is a steal for the price and amount of ports you get! Branded switches are charging $200 or more and some of them even have less ports! I'm getting the full 2.5G bandwidth while having all 8-ports populated as well as the SFP+ 10G port. It also runs much cooler than my 10G MikroTik switch. The small form factor makes it very easy for me to place this on my cramped set up. For reliability, only time can tell. So far everything is running great! 👍

I upgraded from a non-managed Sodola 8-port 2.5G with 10G sfp+ to this 24-port 2.5G with 2x 10G sfp+ and I am very happy with it so far. For the price it was a great option. My previous Sodola switch worked great, never any issues and so far this one is working out very well also. The management interface is simple and easy to use and has good features, it is easier to use then Cisco's interface for similar models. I only used the GUI and don't know if this model has a console but, I don't care about that anyway.

I connected 2 machines, both with 2.5Gb NICs, thru the switch. When I do a speed test between the two machines immediately after powering up the switch, I get data trasfer speeds of 2.30 to 2.36 Gb/sec. Perfectly acceptable. An hour or two later I run the same test and I 0.930 Gb to 0.96 Gb transfer rates. If I unplug the two cable from the switch and plug them into a female / female JR-45 coupler, I get 2.35 to 2.40 Gbps transfer rate. If I power cycle the ether net switch and plug the cables back into it, it goes back to 2.30-2.36 Gb transfer rates, then another hour later it drops back to 0.93 to 0.96 Gb again. The entire time the ether net NICs, and the switch ports indicate 2.5 Gb link speed. I bought 2 of these switches and they both exhibit the exact same behavior.

I'd recommend it for users who need to connect multiple 2.5G devices, prioritize minimizing desktop clutter, and only require a single SFP+ connection. Just be prepared for slightly tighter cable management due to the stacked port layout.

i have 3 of these. all have SFP+ slots filled with RJ45-SFP+ converters. i'm thinking of swapping out the RJ45 SFPs for Fiber SFPs due to the RJ45 modules get so hot they come close to desoldering the components from their boards. i know the fiber units dont have that problem. other than that, throughputs and transfers are consistent always never have any problems with either one of them.
