Alpine S-S65C S-Series 6.5-inch Component 2-Way Speakers (Pair)

Speakers for my classic. Sound is great and easy to install. Great value

I installed these, today, in a 10th gen civic ex. They are being powered by an Alpine S-A32F amplifier. I, absolutely, love how great they sound! But, I have one complaint. The negative and positive prongs, which the speaker wire connect to, are very flimsy. One of the negative prongs (there is two pos and neg, on each speaker) broke off, when I tried to connect the wire. And, one of the positive prongs almost broke off, on the other speaker. If I hadn't had a soldering torch and soldering on hand, this would have been a huge irritation! Overall: A+ for sound quality; C- for manufacturing quality.

Installed these in my jeep rubicon upper rear speakers and they sound great with factory head unit. Also Installed a second pair of tweeters in the front and bam it really woke up the sound over the factory speakers. I wouldn't say a bunch louder but a lot cleaner and make me want to install a sub. Lol

I drive a 2004 silverado extended cab, without the bose option. While installing this product, I accidentally punched a small hole in the cone. I was super sad, thinking that I had ruined the whole speaker. However, with some research, some clear nail polish, and some paper towels, I had the hole patched up in no time and sounding great. I am actually surprised that there is no difference in sound between the damaged and undamaged speaker, but I am not complaining. The self-tapping screws included in the package are kind of junky, and it was because of them that I ended up punching the hole in the first place. However, I replaced these screws with a simple nut and bolt, and the mounting plate functions well and there is absolutely no rattling from either side. The sound of the tweeters are great, and they even are able to be angled any way you want, so they have the potential to sound even better. The speakers themselves sound great, but there really isn't a ton of bass. However, you're buying 6.5 inch speakers, and can't really expect soul-shaking bass in the first place. The addition of subwoofers quickly rectified this problem for me, but this is a warning to anyone expecting good bass from these speakers, because that isn't really what they were designed for. Altogether, these speakers were a delicious upgrade from my 2004 stock speakers, and make for a great-sounding sound system in my truck.

Given that the head unit is very difficult (if not impossible) to replace/upgrade on my Honda Pilot 2015, I decided to try to upgrade the speakers. Glad I did. What a difference. The old ones were light as a feather, these are heavy and of great quality. The sound is amazing. For bass lovers, you're going to have to add a sub somehow (good luck with that). For my rock/metal-loving butt, these are just fine.

I use these with a little alpine power pack amp and sound great. I also use a under seat alpine powered sub for the lows.. For the value these can't be beat. Tweets are nice and clean not over powering. I would buy them again.

Speakers arrived in the scheduled time frame. Outer box looked good when it arrived. Opened that box to find the actual speaker packaging had been previously opened with no shrink wrap or tape to keep it closed. Opened the box and found the speakers hastily put back together in their foam shipping material. The foam was complete with someone's pet's hair. All the pieces appeared to be included in the packaging. Upon further inspection the wiring for one of the bass blockers had been tampered with and was missing one of its spade connectors. Both the subs and the tweeters didn't appear to have been installed before, so I decided to move ahead with my installation instead of returning them. The speakers sound good with nice clear highs and a good midrange. These list as being a direct fit for the soundbar mounting location of a Jeep JK/JKU with factory Alpine dashboard tweeters. The subs will fit fine with out any issues. The tweeters needed to be custom mounted in my Jeep. Unfortunately someone had removed the factory speakers and some of the wiring long before I bought the Jeep. So, I may have been missing something to effectively mount the tweeters. These Alpine speakers did come with a plastic mount that I was able to utilize to attach the tweeters. 3 out of 5 for good sound, but definitely not 100% new.

For a simple factory replacement, this is an awesome set of components. The balance between the tweeters and mud base is very smooth and sound quality is excellent. They are not harsh like a cheaper set. Mid-bass is well rounded. Put some real clean power to them and they will sing even more. 60 watts RMS is ideal for them.
