Review: This may have helped in the recent Ashes series! - Great insight into an area that is essential for success - what happens between the ears! I know, from experience of working with thousands of young people in educational and sports environments, that it's mental skills that make the difference. This book is well written with real insight into the challenges of achieving elite performance in cricket, where you have distinct, continuous one-on-one battles within a team sport. Being able to perform at your best when it matters most defines winners and being able to perform under pressure is crucial, as we have seen in the last test series! The tools and techniques in this book can certainly help with this at every level and many can be transferred into everyday life. An excellent read and would definitely recommend it to players and coaches who want to continuously improve individual and team performance. Must by for all sports coaches...
Thoroughly enjoyed the read and whilst knowing one of the authors the book has been well put together and very user friendly... It has already gone round the office at work and I would recommend it goes into any sports coaches tool kit/kitbag. Very applicable in the real world of coaching and illustrates and high level of applied and researched knowledge...

An ex professional player & coach review
As an ex professional player & coach, I found this book interesting & very relevant to the playing & coaching of the game. As an ex player, I wish that I had had access to a book of this nature as I believe that I would have been a better player as a result. As a current coach, I found the book to be informative with clear application to the coaching of the game. Issues are discussed in simple language without recourse to the 'jargon' sometimes associated with books on psychology & with many examples of how the principles can be applied to cricket. I recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about how the mind impacts on cricket performance. Alan Hill ex professional player & coach - Derbyshire CCC

Firstly, thank you for a cricket-specific book for mental toughness in the game! The content is placed very well, just like the flow of the game. Giving anecdotal evidences and quotes makes the book appealing even to a layman/ player. Its a book meant for all- academicians, coaches and the players as well. It is a good reference book for me as a sport psychologist in India, trying to get the young players involved in mental training. Thank you Jamie and Stewart! Varadayini Chitale, India
