I love these boards. They're sturdy, well made and I'm not worried about the layers separating, and the sizes are perfect for all things. I'm thrilled to have less plastic in my kitchen. I've had them for a few months now; no issues or complaints.

Great cutting boards. I like that I can choose the size I need. It was wonderful this Thanksgiving. Perfect for serving my turkey and for all my cutting tasks. I use these daily. Easy to clean. A wonderful buy.

If you are thinking about purchasing this product I will give you some helpful advice on how to evaluate previous reviews to determine if this is the right cutting board (set) for you. Sort them by rating high to low. Once you have done this you will be looking at a list of how people take care of their kitchen items from "very careful" to "it should just work without maintenance". If you own knives you probably understand that they aren't just always going to be sharp. Cutting on certain surfaces will dull them. Using a knife block can dull them. They require sharpening and care. Sure some will last longer and keep their edge better due to their quality, but you need to care about what you own and put in some effort at keeping your items in good shape so they will do what you purchased them for. The reason I say all of this is because I purchased these expecting all sorts of problems. I expected splinters and separation of the bamboo pieces. Know what I found? A decent quality cutting board that requires a certain level of care to keep in good shape. While I think it is possible that a few bad ones left the factory, the number of problems people are having with these lead me to believe that they aren't being oiled and/or they are being submerged and allowed to absorb water. I'm not going to say this is the finest cutting board on the market, but I do think that a lot of the hate is misplaced. I have now been using these for a couple of weeks and they have performed flawlessly. I really think that this is a solid 4 star set. Is it easy to clean? Well it is wood so no it isn't as easy to clean as glass. Is it sturdy? Again, it is made up of pieces of bamboo so it probably isn't as sturdy as a solid board would be. Craftsmanship? I don't think this was made by a craftsman who cares what he is shipping out the door. I haven't experienced splintering so far and it feels well made but it is a mass produced product so I don't think it earns 5 stars there either. Ultimately this is a good set that presents an incredible value if you are in the market for bamboo boards. I cook for my family at home and I plan on taking care of these so they will serve me well. It comes with care instructions and everyone who purchases these would be well served by reading them. I doubt they will win any awards or be used in any top kitchens around the world, but they are a good set and a great value.

My largest hardwood cutting board recently split at a glue line. It had served me fairly well for years, but finding a replacement has been quite the challenge. However, I came across this board from Royal Craft Wood, recognizing it as the largest board I could buy at a reasonable price. Additionally, I've come to prefer my cooking utensils to be bamboo, which produce high quality, easily shaped items that are both sustainable and good looking. I suppose that comes from growing up in Hawaii. I really appreciated the recommendation to treat the cutting board with food grade silicon oil to help preserve it, as well as to prevent the board from drying out and cracking. I followed up on this recommendation by purchasing and treating the board with food grade silicon oil before using it for the first time. My two favorite things about this cutting board are the juice groove carved along the edges of the board, and the handhold cutouts on the sides. It's always been a challenge to keep juices and other liquids on the board surface, where cleanup is a lot easier. Further, when juices would run off the edges of my previous cutting board, it made it that much harder to pickup the board off the counter, due to the lack of handholds to help break the grip from the countertop. Both features on this board resolve these issues....no juice run off, and adequate hand holds to make cutting board movement easier. My only wish, and this is a request, not a criticism, is that an even larger sized board would be available. This board is perfect as a cutting board, but my wife also uses a cutting board as an empanada dough rollout board...where more surface area is highly desireable. Royal Craft Wood, if you read comments, please make a humongous bamboo cutting board. Something 16"x22" would be ideal.

Update- Just a couple days later and the large cutting board is split almost all the way across the underside. For what was paid for these, having two split in a month is really unacceptable. Original- I received the carbonized bamboo 3 piece set with wax as a Christmas gift. The boards looked really nice, but being wood they obviously start showing cut marks quickly. The cutting boards are always hand washed with mild soap and dried immediately after use and I never let them soak in water. I applied wax twice in the almost month I have had them. Today I noticed, after only using the smallest cutting board at most three times, that it was starting to split along the top and it goes almost halfway across the board and on the other end of the board there is another split starting. I was not expecting them to have cracks so soon, especially considering that I was caring for them appropriately. My concern now is how long will the other two boards last before they start splitting as well. It is hard to see the longer split in the photo, but it is obvious in person.

The cutting boards are very nice. Amazon never disappoints.

استخدمها الان لمده تقريباً شهرين .. للأسف تصدعت جميعها من الاطراف وكانه ستنكسر بالنصف .. وابضاً وجود قطع خشب وقد جرحت يدي من الداخل .. لم تتعرض للماء فترات طويله كنت استخدمها واغسلها مباشره واجففها .. وايضاً استخدم زيت الزيتون قبل اي استخدام ومازالت يكبر الصدع و اخاف ان تظهر لي قطع خشب مره اخرى وتؤذيني

Habe die Bretter als Geschenk gekauft. Sind sehr gut angekommen. Sehen sehr gut und hochwertig aus. Der Beschenkte ist sehr zufrieden.

Hood quality and lasting

Quality control is not there as the product I received is not smooth and I bought this because I saw some reviews stated is smooth. Need to sand it to get a smoother surface but still not perfect comparing to the Omega bamboo cutting board I have is perfectly smooth to the touch. Disappointed with this purchase.

It looks a lot better than the picture and is strong. After oil, the board looks lovely. The finish is a trifle rough, but it gets smoother as I wash it and use it. The ruts could be deeper. If I cut a roast, it overflows. There is enough room for plenty of vegetables and peels. It is not too heavy to maneuver, and it fits in our sink. I would strongly recommend this product, though the design can improve if they look at how Joseph and Joseph solved the problem of carving.
