Expensive, but you get what you pay for. This is HIGHLY concentrated and a great value.
I like that this product has the USDA label and the high concentration. I was referred to this product by my Yoga instructor who says it is great for sleep and also muscle recovery. Price wise, I was comparing this with some other options. For instance, I asked AI which is better Tart Cherry Extract 3000mg in 240 capsules with a 10:1 ratio for $14.95 or 2000mg powder with a 20:1 ratio and 175 servings for $42.89? At first glance you'd think the 240 capsule version is the better value, but look what AI said.... The capsule product provides 240 servings, with each capsule containing 300mg of a 10:1 extract, which is equivalent to 3000mg of raw tart cherry. The total equivalent amount in the bottle is 720 grams. The cost per gram of equivalent raw material is $0.0207 per gram}. The powder product offers 175 servings, with each serving being 2000mg (2g) of a 20:1 extract. This is equivalent to 40,000mg of raw tart cherry per serving. The total equivalent amount in the container is 7000 grams. The cost per gram of equivalent raw material is calculated as $0.0061. Comparing the costs, the powder is a much more concentrated product (20:1 vs 10:1) and offers significantly more value per gram of equivalent raw material. Answer: The 2000mg powder with a 20:1 ratio and 175 servings for $42.89 is the better value. The powder option's cost per gram of equivalent raw material $0.0061 is substantially lower than that of the capsule option $0.0207, and it provides a higher extract concentration. Actual use: First night I had a very vivid dream - a common side effect I found out after, since you spend more time in REM sleep! I do feel some muscle recovery and less aches and pains. I don't know if it's a placebo effect, but it does seem to be working so far (first week trying).

OK product.
The Biophix Tart Cherry organic powder is a decent supplement powder, but the "Tart Cherry" taste wasn't there for me. Using only 6 oz of water, I didn't expect such blandness from the product. However, this powder makes a great addition to smoothies, drinks, and I actually tried it in a muffin mix and it worked well. The container has an external shrink-wrapped seal, but I was disappointed to see that once the cap was removed, there was no seal on the actual container. Since I'm food safety conscience, that gave me a bit of concern.

I AM SLEEPING AGAIN
I have intermittent insomnia. I saw this advertised on the podcast "The View" with Lance Armstrong. I have slept better in the past 2 months than anytime since 2015 when I was in a bad accident. This Tart Cherry really works.

What tart cherry powder does for me
Tart cherry helps me recover more quickly after more strenuous "Honey-Dos." I find that I was also able to reduce my blood pressure with extended use of tart cherry.

It isn't as tart as I'd expected it
I love tart cherries and I grew up surrounded by tart cherry trees, so I actually know what the raw fruit is supposed to taste like. The fruit are pretty tart, even when very ripe. You can buy unsweetened tart cherry juice to get a good idea of what it's supposed to taste like. This is not it. There is a faint taste of tart cherries, the product is definitely not tart enough and even the color should be a lot more red rather than pink. It's almost like it's been diluted with something. I know tart cherries can be expensive, so for this very high price I expect pure, unadulterated powder. I am very careful about supplements and this looked like a legit American company, so that's why I decided to try it. I do love the fact that they are organic. The container was sealed properly, which seems to be an issue for other people. I tried it by itself and also added it to a tea, but it did not dissolve easily. It kinda stuck to the teaspoon and I had to mix for a long time. I will give it a try in my tart cherry pound cake, to achieve a marbling effect and I bet that will look nice and add some extra flavor.
