Grown Alchemist Skin Defense Primer and Lightweight Matte Pore Refiner. (50mL)

After 5 hours of pickleball and profuse sweating, my makeup still looks like I put it on this morning. I have been cursed or maybe blessed with extremely oily skin and huge pores. Have tried many primers only to be disappointed in their ability to minimize pores but also to keep my makeup from sliding down my face by the end of a workday. It’s hard to believe but this product is the holy grail of primers. As you can see by the photo, my hair is a mess but my face still looks like it did when I left the house this morning. A plus to the R&D team that discovered this stuff. As a bonus, it’s natural, glides on smoothly with a slight cooling sensation and prepares the canvas for paint. Great for at the beach, in the pool or anywhere you need to look your best while potentially getting wet.

an amazing base for color I was using foundation but found after i applied primer and added my blush and powder it gave me a very natural look I am lucky to have good skin, but as a senior less is more

You can tell the primer itself is matte by the look of it when you squeeze it out. Initial application a little wet and shiny, bit it absorbs well and delivers on the promise of hydration. It also has a delicious bergamot and citrus scent to it that I can't get enough of. When I run my fingers over my skin I feel the difference in using this product, but personally don't feel like it offers as much shine contol as I'm usually looking for in a mattifying or pore blurring product. Other products have delivered better on that front. It does leave a very smooth surface for makup application, though, and makes my makeup look great and stay fresh looking longer.

I was so excited to try this product based on a major website beauty review. Wow...was I disappointed. The clear gel felt great on my fingers; however, as soon as I put it on my face, it was like a sponge absorbed and sucked out any and all moisture...yikes! So uncomfortable. I probably should have washed it off right then but I thought it was something I needed to get used to. Nope...super drying, to the point where I felt like I needed to put extra moisturizer on over my makeup. Who does that?! The perceived false advertising only added to my disappointment. To theirs and Amazon's credit, I will be getting a full refund.

I received a sample of this in a beauty package and am running out. A bit pricey, but it goes on cool, does well, doesn't cause breakouts and does a good job smoothing out the skin. Doesn't have a scent.
