The Embodying Exercise can be used in seconds any time and can be amazingly powerful but the details are in the book! One can read this book, learn from it and put it on the shelf of 'get around to following up later' books. Or one can read it again and again, reflect on one's life, experiences and health issues and use it to change your life. The style is deliberately and deceptively simple. The techniques are profound. One can think there are many crossover concepts here. There are. Ageless wisdom in another guise. Who doesn't like a new outfit occasionally in one's wardrobe? Seriously try it consistently for a while and note what happens. I think you may find peace with your body and peace in your mind, greater resilience in your life and Conscious Awareness present now. The idea is that with less conflict in our being, there is less stress, with less stress there is more rest and better rest helps the body heal. The book offers no silver bullets for magic healing. There are one or two very minor niggles with editorial precedures, another diagram perhaps as a back page would have been useful and a few proof-reading errors should have been picked up but the paper is great quality and this book will withstand being my Vade Mecum. I hope it becomes yours. I learnt how to do the Embodying Exercise and now go into meditation and take the simple steps whenever I want to find out what my body is trying to tell me, or why I have a physical condition or life situation that is proving difficult. It is AMAZING how quickly and simply you get your answers, and even better, the process allows you to complete the experience, clear the conflict and find peace. You really do feel different, and the physical condition often improves immediately, and certainly over the following hours and days. The chapter called The Unheard Heart is also a favorite of mine - it helps you step back from the 'back and forth / pros and cons' of the mind when facing an issue you're indecisive about, and shows you a way to hear how your heart, and therefore the 'true you' feels about that issue (again, simply and quickly, too, and within getting bound up in the emotions involved). I can't rate this book highly enough - I've been reading and working with self-help-type books for twenty years now, and this is one of the most effective and easy to work with, by far!

Very easy to get the message about the value of meditation and I like the authors approach of making it a simple but effective habit that can be incorporated into your life so easily. Enjoyable and informative book.

Sandy’s Body Calm book answered questions that I had… • How to rest especially when feeling unwell and a head FULL of thoughts… after my doctor gave me a prescription to ‘go home and rest’, • Why do I get a tummy bug sickness when communicating with certain people, and • How to manage and rest into all my various and different emotions (from joyous to challenging). If you never buy another book again, buy this one!
During a very frightening and confusing period in my life I called on a friend. This friend was just about to leave to help others in another country. She said please do me a favor. Get the book "Mind Calm" and I will be back soon. I did as she said and held on for dear life. At that point my life changed. Although going through hard times I am able to cope. Body Calm is an amazing and powerful book, which is not only helping with meditation, but also with my disabilities. Through Sandy's wonderful words and meditation techniques, done regularly I have already found I can reduce my pain meds (make sure you discuss any medication changes with your doctor) I am awake at 7:00 now, not 12:00 in the afternoon. That is due to Body Calm. It is an easy, straight forward way of being for everyone from High stressed Business people to Truck driver to Mum. We could all do with Body Calm. I can not praise Sandy NewBigging high enough and there are not enough words in any language to say Thank you. This Book hit #1 in it's first week. there is a reason for that:: It works! Buy it, read it and enjoy a great life!

We’re all becoming more aware of the link between what happens in our heads and the ensuing impact on our bodies; the statistics for stress-related illnesses vary but they’re always high. Not only does Body Calm acknowledge this, it also demonstrates exactly what stress is, and in doing so it highlights that we’re not helpless victims to unpredictable life events. The author also makes the less familiar link in the other direction: that the body can be regarded as a barometer pointing to whatever issues in our lives may benefit from us becoming more gently aware of them, and how to recognise and respond to this feedback to live more fully. The book is a practical approach to addressing the mind-based stresses that cause or contribute to physical conditions which alone is highly relevant and necessary for the times in which we live, but it does much more as it reveals how we are being invited to take on ways of being that allow us to live a more complete life. I believe the contents of this book may change lives, and I recommend it unreservedly.

I strongly recommend that you read this book if you put a value on your health!
Sandy has a marvellous talent for explaining the complex in an easily digestible way yet he still manages to say it as it is and not hold any punches. The only way his message will work for you is if you use the techniques on a regular basis. From personal experience, if you use this meditation and other techniques as described in the book, how you view your life will be changed for the better! An extraordinary statement you might think, but by reading this book with an open mind, holding back any judgements till you have practiced the techniques regularly for at least 6 weeks, you will find the statement to be true. There are so many things I loved about this book; the recap at the end of each chapter, the Hidden Causes of Stress, the Quick Start Cures and not least experiencing the Embodying Exercise, to name but a few. So, I have a challenge for you! Read this Book and Follow the Techniques so you can Experience the Wonderful Results!
