Am sure in some parts I was even drooling! Pru Plum is in her sixties and runs a successful bakery. She lives above the business along with her cousin Milly and niece Bobby. The story starts off quite light hearted of which overall there is a lot of lightness to it but also a lot of heartache. It’s hard not to go through the same emotions as Pru does through the novel as the more I got to know her character, the closer I felt to her. There is an awful lot of mention of food in the book, mainly of the sweet kind. There is even a recipe for one of the items at the end of the book. I won’t tell you which one as it was very much a sweet surprise! Along with delicious sweet treats, the story deals with loss and moving forward. It’s also about coming to terms with things from the past. I loved the relationship especially between Pru and Milly, there is a wonderful bond between the two. A Little Love was a sweet and engaging story where more than a few of the characters captured my heart. It was a book that I didn’t want to end as I could quite happily have carried on sharing the day to day lives with these characters. It wasn’t until I finished the book I realised just how much it had stolen my heart. Another delightful and wonderful read by Amanda Prowse! I liked the characters in this book and it was nice that it involved people of a more mature age falling in love. I like the imagination of acutally losing yourself in the little bakery shop and smell the wonderful cakes that were cooking. It was comforting. I felt some parts a little obscured and thought that wouldn't have happened but nevertheless enjoyable. Light reading not too much to work out you know how it's going to end Happy!
