ARCTIC MX-4 (previous edition) (4 Grams) - Thermal Compound Paste, Carbon Based High Performance, Heatsink Paste, Thermal Compound CPU for All Coolers, Thermal Interface Material

I am gonna be honest. Never changed my thermal compound in 3 years of owning my laptop. The performance, especially in games decreased a lot compared to when I first got it. The old paste had almost completely dried out. I had to clean the old one, the small plastic scraping things which come with it are helpful as you don't scratch your CPU or other components( Never use a screwdriver). Had to use some earbuds soaked in alcohol as well, so I recommend having some before beginning to clean the paste. The alcohol pad that comes with it won't be very helpful. Once I replaced the paste and assembled the laptop again I immediately notice an increase in FPS in all the games I was playing as well as the fact that the laptop was not heating up so badly anymore. Never would have expected to see such an improvement. Definitely would recommend.

My old PC's CPU and other chips that had the hardened thermal compound wearing out and heat was beginning to be an issue. Preparation is very important and to make sure that you clean the area's properly before you apply the ARTIC MX-4 as per instructions. The good thimg about this compound is that it doesn't set and will work for years before you need to redo it. But by then you'll probably own a newer PC system. Hehe It does exactly what it says and now the PC is running much cooler amd efficiently. I would use it again and recommend it to friends if they asked. Thank you

If you find your PS4 sounding like a jet getting ready to take off, it’s worth giving it a clean out and replacing the Thermal Paste. This paste works well. It doesn’t cure the problem but it does take longer for the PS4 to heat up ready for take off. The PS4 also seems to cool slightly quicker. Very easy to use, small pea sized blob on the centre of the CPU. Once the heatsink is reinstalled it will spread out evenly.

Really easy to use and comes with a spreader but i do recommend doing the Pea Method, Becareful not to use too much, Really impressed with how it works on my cpu, My CPU temp has never been so low before! Would recommned to those who are expericing high temps on their cpu. Package did arrive crushed but product was fine.

Does its job. I will have to review this in 6 Months time when I clean my laptop again. Overall easy to use and the product feels right when you replace with the old thermal paste. The plastic spatula could have been a little bit bigger so that to spread the paste across the components better (top of CPU and GPU where it has contact with the heat sink) .

I used this to replace the old thermal paste on my Alienware alpha's CPU and it worked great. The system runs cooler but also cools down faster. It's widely regarded as an upper range thermal paste and for its price, you can't get much better. Easy to apply (that does depend on your CPU/ PC/ Cooler though) as it came in a small syringe and you get enough to do quite a few CPUs.

Very good product, i've opened up my 3 laptops of witch 1 is an Asus ROG gaming laptop, removed the existing paste and replaced it with this one and i noticed a better heat distribution as the temperature was easily maintained at a safe level in full blast mode. Good stuff

I bought a second-hand AMD FX8320 processor and, separately, a Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 motherboard - got good bargains for an upgrade to my wife's Linux machine. Of course, the processor and heat sink need to be bonded with thermal compound, so I ordered some of this Arctic MX-4 stuff. After carefully cleaning the heatsink and the processor with isopropanol, I installed the processor, applied five dots of this paste (there was plenty) and installed the heatsink. A couple of weeks on, the system is rocksolid even under heavy load, so I assume the thermal compound is working effectively!
