I recently purchased the Shade Stix Blue from Hally Hair, and I have to say, I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase! As someone who frequently experiments with hair color, I am always on the lookout for high-quality hair color products that are easy to use and provide stunning results. The product is transferred onto the hair with a mascara stick, which makes it easy to apply precisely where you want it. I love that I don't have to worry about any messy drips or spills when using this product. It glides on smoothly and evenly, allowing me to achieve the exact shade of blue that I was hoping for. I bought this for my 10 year old who has stated to want to dye their hair. I admit I let them loose with it and gave little to no supervision. They were disappointed with the result and it was quite messy.

I put this on my toddlers hair and it was so cute. It lasted til the next nights shampooing. It washed out easily. Even sleeping in it, it did not end up on her pillow!

I ordered this for my 12yr old to temporarily color his bangs and the color saturation is great! Granted, he put ALOT on his hair, kinda like a teenage girl with too much eyeshadow, he didn't know when to stop, but it was definitely blue. This blue is more of an aqua blue than a dark blue. His hair is a dark strawberry blonde and the coverage and saturation was great. It took quite a few dips and strokes to completely cover his color, but it did cover it. It dries nicely and doesn't leave the hair so stiff that it can't be brushed out with the color still remaining. This is one of the best temporary colors we've tried as far as color saturation and non-stiffness. Now the problem: It will stain your hands and skin! We had to use bleach water to get it off of his hands and face. Even after it dries, it will still rub off and stain your skin. He slept with it on and looked a bit like a smurf when he woke up. Even his pillowcase was blue. It washed out of his hair great when he showered, but his skin still had a blue tinge. I haven't tried to wash the pillowcase yet so we will see how that goes.

I really wanted to like this product, but it didn’t meet my expectations. The color payoff was not as strong as I hoped, especially on darker hair, and it took multiple passes to see any noticeable result. It also felt a bit messy to apply and didn’t last very long. The color transferred easily and faded quickly throughout the day. The concept is great and the packaging is cute, but overall it just didn’t work well for me. Might be better for lighter hair or for very temporary use.
