This New York Times bestselling book by the author of I Will Teach You to Be Rich shows how to navigate finances while in a relationship. Personal finance juggernaut Ramit Sethi’s program addresses the most common money issues in relationships without using boring budgets or restricting plans. Discover your "Rich Life" by learning to: Stop fighting over money. Get both partners to participate in finances. Reconcile with one partner being the Saver and the other the Spender. Take control of your debt. Packed with enlightening real-world stories, Money for Couples will help you use your money to live a more adventurous, spontaneous, and generous life—together. Review: Designing a Rich Life Together, On Purpose - Money for Couples by Ramit Sethi is an exceptional guide for anyone who wants to build a strong financial life as a couple. While there are principles in this book that I’m not yet ready to fully apply, it gives me something just as valuable: a clear roadmap for the future. What stood out to me most is that living a “rich life” is not about becoming a millionaire. It’s about making intentional decisions — spending generously on what truly brings you joy and cutting back on what doesn’t. That shift alone changed the way I see money. One of the most powerful ideas is reframing money conversations so they feel positive instead of stressful. The idea of having short, structured, and frequent conversations — even just 15–20 minutes — makes financial intimacy feel practical and achievable. I also appreciated learning about the four money types and the “invisible scripts” we all carry. It helped me realize that many money conflicts aren’t about math, but about psychology. The Conscious Spending Plan was another highlight for me. Instead of rigid budgeting, it creates space for fixed costs, savings, investments, and guilt-free spending. And the simple rule, “Don’t spend one penny to impress anyone,” is something I won’t forget. This book gave me clarity and direction. Even if I’m not fully living this way yet, I now see what’s possible. It encouraged me to think long term about the kind of life we want to build together and how our financial system can support that vision. I would confidently give this book five stars and recommend it to any couple who wants to design their rich life with intention and unity. Review: For those that struggle with money - This is a great read. Ramit takes a very empathetic approach to how one or couples find themselves in financial problems. He does a great job explaining how managing your finances can be challenging but rewarding too. How one doesn't have to count every penny or feel guilty for buying that coffee. I recommend it to anyone wanting to turn their finances from a problem to no worry and young adults just starting in the world of making money.

Helpful Conversations Starter for Couples
This book offers a practical approach to talking about money as a couple without making it feel overwhelming. The steps are easy to follow, and it encourages honest conversations about goals, spending, and long-term planning. Some parts felt a bit basic if you’re already financially aware, but it’s still a solid read for couples who want more structure and less stress around money. Overall, a helpful guide, especially if you’re just starting those conversations.

How to live your rich life together
Highly recommend this book for helping partners make intentional choices when spending—and saving!—their income. Ramit has a great style of writing that digs into the core psychology of why we may be making the decisions we do and how to plan for a future where income can be better applied to the areas that make life more meaningful. I also recommend his podcast, YouTube channel, and Netflix show!

Ramit Sethi: The #1 Personal Finance Expert in the Universe
Dear All the Homo sapiens (humans) on Planet Earth: I am a former United States Army's Airborne Combat Medic/Healthcare Specialist and a a four-time combat veteran of Kosovo (one deployment), Iraq (one deployment), and Afghanistan (two deployments). I served in the Army's esteemed 173rd Airborne Brigade based in Italy and Germany with more MoH (the Medals of Honor) than any other similarly brigade sized military unit of the Armed Forces of the United States of America (22 MoH to be exact due to fighting the bloodiest battle of the Vietnam War: "The Battle of Dak To" on "Hill 875"), as well as, loosing the highest number of Paratroopers (via combat related injuries and deaths) and earning the most categories of valorous awards during the "Global War on Terror" in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have finally discovered the best personal finance guru in the entire Universe. The caring persona and superb communication of Ramit Sethi have always made me feel like I am his only client. Ramit's customer service has always gone above and beyond in reaching out to me for anything I have needed during his premium life-altering courses. His guidance has always made sure that my financial journey can, hopefully, one day pass the one million USD feat. I wish I can give Money For Couples seven stars. Nevertheless, Amazon permits me to only give a maximum rating of five stars. Thank you very much! Very Respectfully, Retired Staff Sergeant "DOC" Ahmed Sky Soldiers...Airborne All the Way!!! Live to Fight, Fight to Live Fox Fire P.S. Ramit: I am the richest person in the Universe. Why? Because I am content with what I have.

Best Book I Read in 2025
This book is amazing. Ramit speaks in such an understandable tone and has changed my philosophy on how I treat money. Even though my partner did not read it, I still have learned so much about how to approach conversations with them in the future

Enjoying this book-it’s like talking to Ramit!
I’m a big fan of Ramit’s Sethi and his podcast, Money for Couples ( formerly I Will Teach You to be Reach). His first book was named after the original podcast series. He also has a Netflix show, which was pretty entertaining, but I like the podcast because you get to spend the whole hour or just over, with the same couple. On his podcast he was interviewing all couples so it made sense to change the name after about 3-4 years. His first book was great. Lots of interesting information, money philosophies, and smart explanations about how to grow your money, how to save money and how to design a rich life and then figure out how you want to pay for it. But by rich life he doesn’t mean necessarily that money=rich life. Each week he releases a new episode that gives a hard look into a couple’s financial picture- all of it, and then talks about how it looks, how they feel about it, and ways to improve and build their rich life. His view is that money shouldn’t be something you talk about only when you’re fighting or having a crisis because the roof has a leak. He wants couples to have regular money meetings to make talking about money less of a no-no and turn it into something pleasurable. He wants you to dream and really talk as you work together to build your rich life. This book has scripts to use when you talk to your partner-scripts to use in certain situations, how to have money meetings that are fun, how to cut or eliminate what you don’t care about and enjoy immensely the things you do. This book is a refreshing way to approach money as a couple. It’s unique and I love the idea that by talking about your money and finances enough makes it less scary and you can look at it as a joint venture between you and your partner as you run a business together—the business of running your home. I recommend it.

Recomendo.
