I ordered the phone for Christmas and wanted to find a sim card before it arrived. The phone needs a 2g sim card. T-mobile store didn’t sell them but she advised to try the traveler’s sim. I looked on Amazon and found the Tello sim card for 2$ that says in the description that it supports 2g. When I received the card and inserted it in the phone it did not work because I had to insert the IMEI to activate and this phone doesn’t have one. So I inserted the sim in my iPhone, activated the card and since i was connected to wifi I was able to go to Tello website and bought the cheapest plan (100 minuted 5$ per month, no data). The sim didn’t make calls from my iphone because it said I should change settings which I didn’t want to do. So I put back the sim in the toy phone and it worked! It does make phone call, it took a few minutes after we turned it on to work but it did and now we have been using it for a week with no problems. Just note that it does not really show signal on the top left of the screen, sometimes just one or 2 lines but most of the time no lines as if there was no signal.

The Nino card I bought separately did not work with phone. I had to connect with my family plan. Purchased in December 2023 Xmas gift and by February it stopped working. It doesn't charge with its original charger or any other charger. Unfortunate because it was helpful to connect w grandkids while it lasted. Note: it was well taken care off we bought an extra case and carrying purse.

0got it for my son to get use to having a phone and learning responsibility before I purchases a expensive one. Has a lot of neat features and alarms and games and I love it can make calls with ppl I list for him. I bought a sim card and paid for a month but it's not working. Have to call the sim card place and try to get it working . It may have been the wrong sim card. If you have bought this and bought a sim card what card did you use? They should show or list it with the phone cause there is so many different options

Please be aware that the seller advertises the phone will make calls, as long as you have a SIM card, but it is impossible to find a SIM card compatible with the phone. Customer service is no help, as they will just tell you to purchase any card. If all you want is a little kid’s phone that will take pictures and videos, then this is fine. As far as making calls, this is not it.
