Gold ball bearings are probably better than silver ball bearings. I have no hard data to prove this, but I feel very strongly about this. Give them a try.

Good but need lube
These are good bearings, but they need to be lubed, in fact, they are right on the cusp if you don't, you may destroy them. When I say lube, I mean THIN LUBE (not the thick lube for responsive yoyos called Thick Lube) and you need LESS than a pin drop (the less the better, trust me, this COULD make your yoyo responsive.) Look on youtube if you need help lubing a yoyo, there's so much help out there. Never use anything but Yo-yo lube.

Out of the six, I've tried two. One seized after about a week of use. The other has just been lackluster. On the bright side, the price is very reasonable.

Are they better for being gold? Who knows, but they do work great!
Why are these gold? Does the gold help them play better? Is it real gold? I can't answer any of these questions for you. But I can tell you they play *great*. They come clean, deshielded, and uncontaminated. They spin long, smooth, and quiet. I used to pay $10 for one bearing of this quality. Now you get 6 for less than that! Can't beat it.
