There is a short slit at the top of the screen centered in the middle to allow it to go around the rearview mirror, and then a velcro strap at the top to keep it closed when the sunshield is up. Both sun visors are then swung down to hold the top in place. When you're ready to drive you simply detach the velcro strap, flip the visors up and pull the sunshield back away from the windshield. You then fold it in half lengthwise (its a little tricky to do while sitting in the car because of its size), and then twist your hands in opposite directions, and then fold it a couple of times making it into a very compact disc-like shape. An elastic band then stretches around it to prevent it from popping back open. They even provide a nice carrying case with a zipper (although I doubt I'll use it much since I use the sunshield everyday). All in all its a well made accessory that everyone should have regardless of car make or model.
