Awesome Drill
I bought this drill after trying to cheap out and get a similar appearing drill. That was a mistake. Chicago Pneumatic makes a great drill, the trigger is very easy to tease or start slowly, the chuck is very true and the reverse switch operates smoothly. The drill is small, but packs a punch. I just finished drilling a ton of holes for my experimental aircraft project this weekend and it never missed a beat. It is also fully supported by the manufacture and cab be completely rebuilt. The unit I received had a red body, which is 2011's model color.

it is useful, but this low-torque/high speed drill would never be ...
I've owned and heavily used a CP7300 for four years, and purchased this so that I can have one in the home garage and one in the hangar. The original has CP7300 has a keyed chuck, and no reverse capability. The small keyed chuck is a bit aggravating to use, and this keyless chuck is well worth the extra few bucks. For a high-speed air drill, the reverse capability is seldom used--for a slow-speed screw driver, it is useful, but this low-torque/high speed drill would never be used for screw insertion/removal. Occasionally a drill bit will stall, and having the reverse in that case is convenient.

Good body. Horrible chuck.
I needed a 1/4" reversible palm drill to work on aircraft and I love the convenience of keyless chucks. The price seemed right (vs. Sioux or Avro), so I ordered it. Used it for the first time today, and was please with the motor, but woefully disappointed with the chuck. The chuck will not grip tightly enough to stop a #40 drill from spinning while drilling even something as soft as 2024-0. I tried several times to tighten the chuck, but the base rim of the chuck is so narrow that it is impossible to grip for a good tightening. Also, the overall quality and precision of the chuck is marginal. If you want a CP palm drill, buy the one with a keyed chuck, as this one is basically useless. I have several chucks on hand, and will try to swap this piece of junk out for a 1/4" keyed chuck. Otherwise, it's going back to Amazon.

Very durable and reliable aviation tool.
My drill has with regular lubrication and filtered air source, has been free of defects for almost 4 years and over 5000 aircraft rivets. It's size allows me to work in confined spaces and very narrow surfaces. It's weight reduces fatigue while performing overhead drilling and polishing. The "tease" trigger, allows easy starting of small fasteners, and at very low speeds enables drilling of special alloy fasteners such as titanium and magnesium. The exhaust port enables clearing of debris, prevents "blowback" in confined spaces. Apprentice A&P technicians will realize an accelerated performance of their structural experience, at a very reasonable cost.

Good product and good delay
I have nothing bad to say about it. Works perfectly and shipping and handling was really good, no damage on drill. Plus I received it in 5 days instead of 14 days in Christmas period and I'm living in Canada so that's really good! Thanks for good delay and good product.* Don't be scared if you feel air leaking from reverse button it's normal *

well worth it
I've had this drill about two months now, and am quite impressed. It's extremely light, trigger response is great, and its less than half the price of most palm drills. I think the chuck could've been better quality, or else it would of been five stars.

The chuck isn't the best, but the drill works fine
I'm an Aircraft Structures mechanic, and I use this drill every day. The chuck isn't the best, but the drill works fine.
