Help your child explore alternative strategies to biting when they’re overwhelmed by emotions. Biting Hurts is a book about biting for toddlers. It teaches “no biting” by featuring real photos and a relatable story of a young child learning to express his feelings in healthy ways, rather than acting on the urge to bite. And the lesson goes beyond the book! Scan a QR code on the back of the book for an interactive song to help your child learn that teeth are not for biting. You will also get access to additional on-topic resources and approaches developed by experts to prevent toddlers from biting. Great tool for biting
This is such a great book for dealing with biting. The use of photos instead of drawings makes more real to a toddler.

My Daughter is Interested
We love Lovevery books - we have almost all of them. I’m not sure how effective this particular book was for my daughter though, after she read it she bit me (mom) for the first time. As if she learned that was an option. We were hoping to curb very occasional biting of her sister. She loves to read it though and hasn’t bit another child since receiving it, so maybe the messaging was there!

Great Book to Help with Biting
Great book that helps babies and toddlers navigate those biting moments. Giving them alternative ways to deal with things when they are mad or frustrated. I love that we were able to have this as a resource right when our baby started biting.

Great photos, decent story
I have 2 kids with developmental disabilities, and both of them bite at times. I got this book to use with my younger son. This book feels similar to a social story, which are commonly used with kids who have difficulty understanding cause and effect of their actions. I like that this is a well made board book, it will be durable for the rough handling that my kids sometimes have. This book has nice photos depicting a boy having a hard day and how he deals with it. The story is ok, it may or may not convince a kid to not bite. I like that it explains other ways to get out frustrations. It was funny when I read the book to my son, he was really into the story until he realized that the story was going to have a message that he would rather not think about. There is a QR code on the the back of the book for more resources on the topic. I have not looked at that yet. I would be interested to check out another book by this company, since the book is such a nice quality. Overall, I recommend this book for teaching a kid about why biting isn't ok.

Very relatable with good tips for both child and parent
This is now our third Lovevery book on tricky topics, and I love it as well. I want to start off saying that these aren't meant to be treated as a storybook, necessarily. They are meant to help your children relate to specific examples, in this book a little boy getting upset and biting his mother. So it won't follow a nicely laid out story as your kids may be used to, but they'll enjoy it nonetheless. My daughter seems to relate to the kids on the pages, which is something else I love about this series. She is 3 and has been biting my husband almost daily. These books are not only great for modeling behavior for children, but for me as a parent to learn a couple of tips. I love the addition of the QR code with resources for me to access as a parent. Will definitely be trying them but I do see how engaged she becomes when I tell the story, and I say things like, oh just like you when xyz happened! And she enthusiastically nods. Loving these books!

Great book, but…
My toddler loves reading this book. The text is well written and we like the real pictures. However, it has not reduced his biting…so…
